Do You Need Support To Get Teamspeak Working?

There are things you might not be aware of that will become a pleasant surprise.. Have you ever used teamspeak>?

First of all - over 3 and 1/2 years running a TS server I have seen maybe 1 out of 100 people have a problem that I couldnt solve or make reccommendations for to tweak it. It is adaptable. It has different levels of voice compression quality. (Presuming you also get the upper levels of modem speed , most of the time on average - in other words - a NORMAL 56k modem connection). Trial and error still costs nothing but you stand to gain knowledge.

Now out of those people who were on 56k, it might have been more like 1 out of ten, which is still very good odds. The other nine 56k users would still tell you there is no frame rate loss for your mass majority of games. Lets say you have a top-notch 3.4ghz cpu, 1 gig of system ram, you will be in the nine guaranteed. If you're still running a 1.0ghz system with 256meg system ram then its time for a christmas wish list.

Have you been holding off deciding to go with a better service such as DSL or Cable because its not in your area? No problem, I think you will still find the quality, and the knowledge and experience from having tried teamspeak open your eyes.

All the people that have ported over to teamspeak from roger wilco - remember the good old days of roger wilco where you sounded like you were talking through tin cans tied together with string, and a dirty sock wrapped around the mouthpiece, and THEY were using 56k modems then too... AFTER they tried temspeak they were still on 56k modems and were much happier.

Now the person who is running the server will have some control over the quality, and the type of connection being used for the server may make a difference.. I have cable with higher than average up/downloads.. although it is my understanding that your voice does not have to go through my computer to get to all the other people.. I think it is just a sort of switchboard for other peoples ip addresses if you know what I mean. Im guessing your client software just keeps tabs on the list of people logged in, and the voice goes directly to them from you.

P4 2.8ghz game sys -Ati Radeon 9800pro from TAG Enigmacon04 - 1gigram

P4 2.8ghz game sys -Ati Radeon 7200 - 1.5gigram

Running all 5 on a cable modem with a SMC router, and SMC hub.

Check the pings, hops, speed, of your cable modem or internet connection
