My guess is yes & no ;)

I supect the free month is tied to an account...so yes you could have 2 free months, but they'd be on different accounts. For example you could hypothetically start up a MidshipmanRob account, play it for 1 month till you worked out what you were doing, which faction/ship you were going to play etc, then start your CommodoreRob account with the other free month.

Thats just my pressumptions based on other online games I have encountered. A lot depends on how TAG's accounting database is constructed. They obviously aren't going to be complaining if people who bought retail buy gold too, but the crediting of the 2 free months to 1 account may be technically difficult to achieve.

Pay to play?, I thought that's what happened when I bought this game!

So there is not going to be a network playable version of this game?

Silent Hunter II, Seawolf, Sub Command,Fighting Steel, Destroyer Command(ect ect) are all network playable games and all can be played over the internet, Why would Enigma be limited to only pay to play? Can we make this more flexible than that and make it able to play with other players in my house on my network or over the internet with my best friend in Michigan?

Are there any plans for a true network playable version of the game where I can setup

my games with friends at home?

well, "undecided" is much more positive than the "no" that was "the word" for so long.

Turbo, you name all those other games, but they don't have *hundreds* of people playing on the same server. How about Worlds of Warcraft, EQ, SW Galaxies, WWII Online, Warbirds, Aces High? They all are pay to play, because they are giving you a persistent world, hundreds of players, and dedicated server *farms* to run on. It's apples and oranges.

(EDIT: Making a LAN version would mean twice the work for TAG, and the increased possibility for hacks in the persistent version. There's no way that can be worth the time, trouble and expense for TAG, IMO. The (miniscule) increased sales wouldn't cover the expense.)
