Ahhhhh Many Problems Need Help

#1
Ok first of all this game is great, I have been a fan of naval games since I first bought Janes, even back to the days of uboat 2 hunter/killer, this game is far better then all of these. Unfountaly, I have encountered many problems with the game. First of all my mic will not work at all, the min i hit the test of turn it on key, the game will frezze and comp must be restarted. So after this i decided to try to unistall it and then reinstall, nope can't do this says the files are all corupted, I also can't remove it from going through the control pannel. I also can't get the b patch for the USA version to work(even after reading all the threads about it) The A patch works great and have enjoyed blowen stuff up with the BC's. enigma!:

Any help would rock, I finally found the verfication email, aol an there bloddy spam protection crap. It also doesn't help im runing 24k on the net.

Lets see-

Issue #1 uninstall/reinstall:

Manually delete all the files from C:\Program...\..\Enigma..\

Then click on Start->Run and type regedit. In the registry editor hit CTRL+F and type enigma in the search box, delete the strings it finds (F3 is to continue search).

Reboot when done, and try installing Enigma after the bootup.

Issue #2 microphone:

Assuming that issue #1 is solved:

Follow these 2 quotes before you install any patches:
13:) Microphone Issues:
Make sure your mike is plugged in to the correct jack outlet on your Soundcard.

Make sure you have installed the Enigma-sAPI (its on the CD) If you got Win98/98SE/ME you need to run the *.exe file from \cdrom\win98 in order to be able to install the *.msi file from the \cdrom\speech\ folder.

Click Start->Settings & Printers->Control Panel->Speech (Win98/98SE/ME: its Start->Settings->Control Panel). then click on "input", from the pulldown select your Soundcards Wave Device, click on "OK" click "Train Profile" and complete atleast 2 tests, so Windows will recognize your voice/accent. (Preferly you should complete them all, and to make it even more perfect do them twice).
6:) Change Windows's control over your page/swap file so that you control it.
Win98/98SE/ME: Right click on "My Computer" and select "Properties" and click on the "Performance" tab, then click on "Virtual Memory" and move the radio button from "Windows Control" to "User Defined" then Change the Min & Max values to 1024MB. Click apply and ok, then reboot.

WinNT/2K/XP: Click Start->Settings & Printers->Control Panel->System and then click on the "Performance" tab then click on "System Cache" and click on "Change" For the virtual memory control and change the values Current and Max to 1024MB.

If you have several Harddisks then move your Pagefile to a partition/harddrive that doesnt have Windows or Enigma on it, (eg when Windows is on C:\ and ERT is on D:\ then put pagefile on E:\). Click apply and ok. (Reboot if asked to).
Now test your game see if it works and see if the mike will init.

Issue #3 Installing patches:

After you have confirmed that your microphone now works, it is time to apply the patches. Install first 213A then apply 213B.

Hope this helps else report back :)
