Main similarity between sub and surface is patience, subs gotta line up their little fish, and surface have to kill subs (enough said ); main difference, subs get visual satisfaction, surface is more work.

I love surface because of the work put in: Nothing quite like weaving between a four fish volley, running at flank over the bastard as he crash dives, and dropping cans that will rip his asunder in the depths. No visual satisfaction, but when I hear those cans go off, and see his number come up dead, I hear my whole crew jumping for joy! Can't wait to crap all over you yank and kraut wolves out there. Subs for me. There's something satisfying about putting four in an Alliance and diving to 30 meters, where you seem to be undetectable.

There are a lot of good arguments, advantages and disadvantages to both sides. I've always prefered surface combat between battleships or cruisers. ASW is also interesting, but a cat and mouse game, instead of a straight out slugging match. The mouse, of course, is armed and highly dangerous.

For me, it is the being able to see the sky and decks of the ship, as well as the look and feel of the ocean. Submarining is fun, but I'll take the challange of the open ocean to the inside view of a sardine can.............and the waiting, and waiting, watching the tactical display, wondering if they have your depth this time. omg:

Surface.My favorites ships are the battlecuissers class Takao and the cv class Akagi.

im both I don't think you can decide if one is better. I think they are both needed in every navy.

One thing is for shure. ENigma is the best game i have played that has both.

Takao is a gorgeous boat (gotta love that high rise bridge), but my favorite is the Tone.
