Pesky I-15c

I have an issue with these particular subs. I always seem to kill most of the subs but then when there is one left I lose him from sonar. So I stop and cut my engines to be quiet. After about 5 to 15 minutes the enemy sub ALWAYS surfaces right next to my boat and manages to do a extreemly fast pivot and nails me with torps. Guess it takes me too long to get my engines going and then speed up to avoid the torps.

Guess my two questions are these;

1) Do these subs really pivot thit fast in RL?

2) When the mission says to force a sub to surface and surender, is this the tactic or do they really mean blow the stinking sub out of the water?
