Missing Textures After Installing Patch

I just got hold of the game, installed it and it worked fine.

Like a good boy I found the latest UK patch (8-) and tried to install it but I needed the earlier patch (A) first.

I installed patch A and then patch B without any problems until I ran the game, now all the surfaces (ships, subs, planes) are white (no texture).

My graphics driver is the latest version so I have rolled it back to an earlier version and then an even earlier version with no effect. I have a Matrox Millenium G450

The game runs fine without the patches, I know I could just run it like that but why should I when the patches should work.

Can anyone help ?

Unfortunately the Matrox Millenium cards are not fully DirectX 8.1 compliant and are unable to handle the DX Compressed textures properly.

One of the changes in the patch was moving from uncompressed PNG's to DirectX native compression.

The only solution is a newer videocard (ATI is our preferred product).

I will run without the patches until I upgrade to another graphics card.
