Russia... Where Are You ?

According to a newspaper in the game, the Empire and the Communists are fighting in Poland in 1938, but otherwise we're all guessing.

I believe East agreed when I pointed out Russia had the worlds' largest submarine fleet in the second world war, so I guess we can expect many soviet submarines.

And given that my current hobby is Russia in WW2, whatever failings may have occured in the first war were more than made up for in the second.

Though I loathe how communists defaced and destroyed Tsarist symbols on everything they could find. I really would like a Mosin rifle (which I am now collecting, three so far) that has the original two-headed eagles instead of vandalism.

Anyway, here's the original thread: http://enigma.tidesofwar.net/index.php?showtopic=965

Russia... Where Are You ?

As far as I remember my history lessons Germany defeated Russia in WWI (1917), which was one of the major reasons for the communist revolution, and after some skirmishes Russia was forced to make peace at Brest-Litowsk early in 1918, which left vast lands in western Russia (today mostly Ukraine and the baltic states) in German hands.

Now in Enigma Germany won WWI, so I guess that the peace-treaty of Brest-Litowsk is still valid in some sort and Germany is still occupying western Russia (including oilfields and coal- and ironmines).

Nevertheless: In reality Russia had a fine fleet at the start of WWII, and they even fought the Germans on several occasions very successfully. Unfortunately the actions taken by the red fleet hardly made it to the history books, because their importance ranks very low compared to the land battles.

in reality Russian fleet died in Zusima in 1905......

in WW1 Russian Empire was holding Germany & Austro-Hungarian Empire.

But England and France - 2 powerful countries!!! - fought against

only alone Germany.......

despite the fact that we had fell back from territiries of Ukrain and Belarus,

large forces of enemy were staying on eastern theatre.

owing to this help ally Eng and ally Fr. could defeat germans.........

to my mind in WW2 the best fleets were American and Japaneese.

Comunists actions during the revolution were generally barbarian,

you`re quite right. It`s a pity, but Nikky II and bourgeois government

couldnt hold the sway.

by the way, explain me plaese, who won the WW2 ?

It's nice that you just deleted the most important part of my posting... (rather offensive to use the remains to start a flame war...)

Hey, boy, we're talking about Enigma-1937 and how we got there, compared to the originial history up to 1937. Not about WWII in reality (which started, fyi, in 1939, and if I remember right Russia was Germany's ally back then, until 1941 at least...).

And: I didn't say 'best' fleet, but 'fine' fleet. Don't know how many Russian sailors didn't show enough 'political correctness' in Stalin's eyes, but they had some excellent surface ships. Three decades after Tsushima. By far enough time to build up a fleet.
