Howdy, I'm a bit confused... did you say i only bought a single player game? I know that i see multi-player on the box. It says nothing about having to pay-to-play. And just for info's sake, why would they release a game that is intended to have multi-player, yet doesn't? I came here to get some answers to questions i had, and only seems to bring up more questions...go figure. hope someone can take the time to answer these questions, Thx

Think of it this way. They are two completely different games.

There is the single player, pop down the shop and get a copy, version. and there will be the multiplayer, download and pay to play, version.

The single player acts as a base for the people to get to grips with the game before the mp and as a something for the people who are not interested in online play to still enjoy the game with.

So well done on purchasing the SP game and have fun playing it and if you want to play the MP when it comes out then learn all you can from the SP game and you will be well away!

Basically Tesseraction Games needed to release something as money was becoming an issue. They are only a small company and this is thier first release. Believe me we all want multiplayer but that means TAG can't go out of business. ON the box it says:

"Free 30-day Subscription.

With proof of purchase Tesseraction games is offering a free 30-day subscription to the mssively multiplayer online version of Enigma:Rising Tide when it is launched later this year. Play the single-player game to learn tactics, increase your skills and prepare yourself to command in a truely unique game world."

The multiplayer would have been released by now had TAG not been screwed over by the European distributer GMX Media. THe programmers at TAG are working all the time to get this game released multiplayer. It's even more important to them because they require it to make money. The entire point a computer game is made. if they were working so hard to give us a LAN patch as nice as that would be it wouldn't make business sense to TAG since they would gain nothing from it. A 30 day free subscription clearly implies that after 30 days it is no longer free. sleepy:

The topic of payment and MMOG over LAN and basic deathmatch games has been discussed many times around the forum. Have a read of some of the forums and you'll see what a freindly and supportive online community this is. I have no doubt MP will come. And if it takes longer but is released ready and of a high quality then I'm willing to be patient. enigma!:

I hope this answers some of your questions HellsBells and if you get bored of singleplayer keep popping back here to see the progress of MP. You still get your 30 days. buxton:

Hmmmmm

I must admit I have never seen 1 game, billed as 2. I zipped through the game rather fast and had no real problems finishing the missions, started looking for multi-player but I could not find it. huh:

I really don't think I would be interested in paying to play, but i'm sure there are those that are. Quite a bit of money to play a game that was billed as having multi-player. I Guess it will just gather dust. I just looked at the box i have and nowhere does it mention multi-player was pay-to-play, or "30 day subscription"... Dang, could been fun! >;(

But thx for the answers
