ok thanks EAST.
I also found the other threds relating to all of this, sorry for cluttering up the board :D
OK how exactly do you download the voice packs? Where or how do I install them?

Come on guys this has to be made easier to do.

I am an old fart and I don't have time to play guessing games on how to install a voice pack.

I found the communication.txt message in the game dir and it's all greek to me.

Why can't someone make this easier? How about making it were all we have to do is download a file and click on an exe and violoa it's all done for us? Is that hard to do?

OK if you can't provide a easy bake receipe then how about some darn directions on what to do STEP BY STEP. Please!

ok it's really simple

1. download from the link in the forum

2. open winzip, select all in the downloaded file

3. extract all to c:\dreamcatcher\enigma

4.open up preferance menu in game, and select voice response( to turn it on, it will be green when on)

remember you need to have the new patch though in order to have voice response!!

Andy,

1. First check if your microphone works correctly. It is a voice response pack, after all. Test it in Preferences, when in doubt.

2. Unzip the files again, and if it asks to overwrite anything, say ALL. Maybe it did not unpack the commandresponse.txt correctly the first time.

The sound files are in subfolders my_voicepack, my_voicepack1 or stated differently. The commandresponse.txt there should have the same date as the file with the same name in your Enigma game folder. If it doesn't, copy it by hand to your game folder.

This should work, I think. Good luck.

To all the Chaps having problems with the voicepacks

If you have downloaded the voicepacks to your Enigma folder you should have, one folder called myvoicepack and another called my voicepack1, in the folder my voicepack1 is a command response text for both packs just move it to the main enigma folder replacing the original. I hope this helps

OK I figured out what was wrong. It had to do with the settings on winzip. There is a check box that is called folders or something. And when that is not checked the downloaded voice files won't extract the my_voice and the my_voice1 directories properly.

I figured this out after I manually made those two directories.

Not sure what version of winzip I am using but it's unregistered for sure. So check your winzip settings and make sure that it's setup properly to do folders.

I want to thanks those that figured out how to do these voice files and took the time and effort to make them for us. Nice job. It really does add so much more to the game.

Now if I could figure out where all the British Airplanes are coming from when I do a patrol along the East Coast of the USA. :)
