Klm - Sub Mission #3 (inspect The Tanker)

How can i send crew on the freighter to inspect it?
And why my friend U boat always attack it by torpedo?

is that a bug of the mission?
I suffered with this one for ages. I think that the merchantman is normally destined to get torped by the other sub which is an Anglo-Japanese fella, not a friend! In the big data screen click on his "blip" to see a vessels alleigance. I kept trying to torp him, but he always dived out the way. How I completed this mission was by stern torping the A/J sub so he dived and broke engagement, then I manouvered my sub alonside the freighter. As the US ship came close, he set about hunting the LFN sub. As the US ship circled the area I bow torped him and the mission was succesful. I love this game as it keeps you trying to figure out what you did wrong and improve on it.
Yeah the ship is supposed to be sunk by the other sub.

Every time I play this mission .. in whichever sub... I like to sink the other sub and CV ... If I sink the CV first ....or if the other sub manages to first .... I like the sub to sub duel ........ I sometimes only regret when the Wren is sunk by the LFN sub ,, that I didn't sink it first ! You didn't say which FACTION you were playing ! IGM ( Germany presumably if you were wondering about boarding it ) . I will try this mission again ... Maybe the LFN sub can be scared off with a torpedo and sunk , I know I did delay the sinking of the Wren that way once , by firing a stern torpedo at the LFN sub as soon as possible . but I doubt the Wren can be saved .

OK . I just did this one again to verify .

Similar to Dhugs .

Simultaneously , pivoting at flank speed to point either bow or stern at LFN sub , ; and ; firing all guns at it too .

This time it was closest to stern , ; Fired 1 torp to force it to break off attack on Wren. Continued pivotting at flank , until bows were almost pointed at LFN, and set flank speed directly towards it. Fired a bow torp.

( At this stage , I think I have once succeeded in sinking the LFN sub with a torp .)

This time , I followed it closely , ( making use of external view a lot )

When the USN corvette came too close , in pursuit , I fired 1 stern torp to slow it .

Then continuing closely with the LFN ( which was below 50 m still ) When it rose , just above 50 m , I torpedoed it . Quickly pivotted , as the LFN came in ( slowed now because of my earlier first torp , and was finished with the second .

Managed to manouver alongside Wren . Finally .

Thus . : Not always is the Wren sunk . Not necessarily .

[ This time I allowed it to continue and did not wantonly destroy it in masses of pleasingly orange flames , with salvos of torpedoes until expended ..lol ]

Ok guys, have some pity on the slow minded.

I have read the orders: fire warning shots, run if it gets hostile.

Soooo.....

27 tries later and still no joy.

I have fired warning shots, the Wren stops. This is where i have tried anything different.

p----- off the other sub and he sunk me.

Ran him down and sunk him then the CV after running and hiding until no Batts or air.

Let the CV sink the other sub and run, but he finds me and dogs me until I have to sink him.

I even let him put a shot into my stren before running.

1. The Wren has to sink.

2. The other sub can live or die?

3. The CV can live or die?

4. I drive south until I see ICE?
