the problem isn`t that the ai can hit 4000m, the problem is that the battle ships are preparate for fire objetives around 34000m and we can faund missions of this tipe.

The visible distance changes based on the fog settings. In general the visible distance has been increased to 5k meters from 4k. It could be a bug, we will take a look at it.

Thanks East, I've tried with varying sea states and weather conditions, and even under clear skies and calm seas other ships aren't visible until you are within 2000m.

There is definitely a change for the worst in viewable distance using the patch.

same here! I played tons of patrols (12h+) only with the Hood, never had visibility beyond 2k crybaby:

I usually set the environment variables to the best (calm sea, at noon, etc.) and still the outcome seems to be totally random (high waves or no waves, rain...) , but the fog always stays the same...

UK-Version here

driving a BB is very rewarding though!
