Pivot Turns

when i play on a ship with two props and try to pivot turn most of the time it wont work right one prop will not go to reverse instead both props stay the same

ive tried clicking the buttons and using the W and R keys with no luck

what am i doing wrong

It won't pivot unless you are nearly at a dead stop - maybe that's the problem?

yeah when youre moving and orders a pivot, your engine leveler will be brought to a full stop, and when your speed has decreased to about ~4kts (ship dependant) then it will engage the pivot and one side will go in reverse and the other will go forward. depending on what speed you want to pivot at you can issue ahead flank etc after the pivot has started to pivot faster.

DDs Pivot from about 5 knots , smaller ,from about 3 knots . Saying Pivot , ( or clicking , as per manual ) starts the pivotting at third speed usually , so you can say Ahead two thirds,,, full ,,flank.. to increse or decrease the rate of pivotting . Pivot starboard / Port .. reverses direction at same speed .
