Anyway, I notice the patch is due soon. Is it too late to pop in a few last-minute suggestions? They're all rather minor and (I hope) easily implemented at the last minute, since they are cosmetic in nature.
I know that when I first started playing this game last fall, one thing that struck me was that there didn't seem to have been much editing in the descriptions of the vessels. I'm not on my home comp at the moment and can't recall all the examples, but one that springs to mind is the Buckley class DE for the American navy. The text description of the vessel states that it's two quad torbedo tubes pack quite a punch, while it lacks in air defense, but the specifications of the vessel directly above it clearly tell you that it only has one triple torp tube, and it seems adequately defended against planes with it's 8 20mm's and a twin 40mm, as opposed to some of the other vessels in the game that are either completely lacking 40mms, or have their complement of AA guns poorly placed and provide limited fields of fire. I'm also confused what the term "K-gun" refers to in the specifications of the vessels, since there are several vessels that have them listed.
It's really a very minor technicality, but it's a nice touch to have the descriptions of all the vessels match their actual specifications. I assume that the purpose of the descriptions is to give players a brief summary of what that craft excels at, and a new gamer wanting to play a patrol in a craft that has great torp armament is going to be sorely surprised if he cruises out in a Buckley
One other thing that doesn't effect gameplay but would be a nice addition is if we could, in the future, have a section out of game where you can browse through the weapons like you can with the vessels, in order to see ranges, max elevations, rate of fire, and the like. The first few times to play with each new class of gun is a few minutes of yelling "ENGAGE" and seeing if your guns are in range to fire yet
Thanks for a great game and keep up the amazing work.
