just bought it, installed it go to play it and it crashes before it has even loaded

What is your OS ?
Do you run WinNT/2K/XP, then try this:
Click Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Manger.
Click on "application log", did windows write any crash event regarding E:RT?
If it did then mail it to east@warfleet.net and/or post it here for all to see, we might be able to sort your problem without the help of the DEVs.
i was running win98, i have installed winxp and exactly the same thing happened, the game crashed out before even opening
anyway i have installed all upto date drivers and it works on XP now so im off to sink some Germans
