Agreed.  That hadn't occurred to me.  A film about Midway would require naval vessels.  I suppose you could augment aerial gameplay footage (including some limited attacks on naval vessels) with archival footage.  Perhaps the Battle of Britain would be more suitable?  A good portion could be game footage with some archival footage.  Churchill gave 2 great speeches to Parliament ("We shall never surrender" and "The Finest Hour") in June 1940 preceding the Battle of Britain that could be used much like you used FDR's Pearl Harbor speech to Congress.  Great work on your working model!  I want to see how it turns out.

Well, you can use different games for your purpose. World of Warships and Warthunder if you consider Midway. Remember, there is a rule in video making. You need 100 minutes of footage to return 1 minute of film. So that's alot of footage. I don't play these games so I don't know if there are enhanced camera options and the ability to turn off the HUD. Those speeches by Churchill are indeed very epic. If you need more, I have 103 of his speeches.

Well, if we consider the entire Battle of Midway, most of the fighting occurred with aircraft, the ships didn't do much except launch planes, protect the carriers, or move to avoid planes. I think I would be able to film all of that in War Thunder. Of course there was the ship movement before and after the main aircraft skirmishes (like the USS Nautilus and the Japanese destroyer with the name that currently escapes me), but I feel that I could get any footage of them either in War Thunder, through news footage, or with footage of different games. I intend to have everything that occurred at Midway be in color, while the stuff before (and possibly after), will be in black and white.

I don't play World of Warships, however War Thunder has a Replay system, that allows you to get different angles and such.

Chaps

We have two WT squadrons if you dont count VBF-12

Air Assaisins is not specific to any battle or era but BSS is a marine squadron.

So should we not focus on Marines activity like Guadacanal... We may then be able to use footage from WT or IL2:1946

The only Squdron we have on the Battle of Britian is 616 Sqn and their video is here:

VBF-12s tribute is here:

We also have a 12.OIAE one for the russian front here:

And finally a late war european theatre one for 360th Fighter Squadron here:

Marines flew at Midway. If I am not mistaken they flew the SBD-3 or the TBF avenger. Or maybe it was something else. Regardless they flew at Midway.

If we are talking recruitment, then why don't we create a recruitment video with this...
