
Then I went back because I wanted to see how they looked with a more traditional/national based skin set. A bit flamboyant, but they turned out ok.


The Albatros series are all factory tan with the flag colors on all four wings, top and bottom (I've seen some black and white photos with the flag on all 4 wings. I don't know if it's too much or not. Also did a DVII and Pfalz with the Hungarian Hex-camo. They came out much better than I Thought they would. I am sure there is a way I could line up the ailerons so that the hex-pattern meshed, but It would probably take hours. They have iron crosses instead of 1918 straight crosses (Hungary kept the iron crosses through 1918). Crosses are also close to the center of the wing, typical of Hungarian paint schemes probably because they didn't want to paint them on the ailerons.
