i have well over 100 gigs free, tried to run a game earlier, got to 70%,,power went out,, i think its a sign,,,,
Well, short of a complete reinstall of windows, Im stumped. I cleaned all ATI files using the ATI uninstaller, reinstalled ATI drivers and catalyst control center. I rebuilt .NET 2.0 and 3.0. Directx, the whole nine yards. I then installed wings over vietnam and applied the first patch. IL-2 is still installed as it was and seems to be playable, the only thing is the version switchers dont seem to be working, as it is stuck in 4.09b1m , or whatever it is.
I then started WoV and crossed my fingers. At first it seemed ok, then began lagging as it did before and I hit
ctrl/alt/delete to bring up task manager, and sure enough, about 50 CLI.exe's were running. Just as I was about to push printscreen to get a shot of it, they all dropped off the list and my processes went back to the normal 25.
I then ran WoV for about twenty minutes in a F4 phantom dodging sam's at rooftop level in full burner.
Not one hiccup.
dont ask me.

Oh yeah, this is after two power outages during all the madness.
We'll see how it goes.

concerning the gameswitchers. by default they were installed to the root folder of il-2 (in their own folder). from what I got from the rteadme, you just click whichever one you want to switch to before starting the game. correct?

No Sir! No body has given up on you. I have one more class left. I have been on TS most of the time except when I go to eat or for the Joint-Ops classes.
I be on TS most of the day and tomorrow. When you come on line check to see if I am on TS. Also I set up a chat room just for the 1stADVBG.

its now 0552 hrs, wednesday april 22, i believe Ive traced it down to an issue with ATI cards, so i switched it out with a nvidia geforce 6200 oc. seems to work fine,,but i have a 5000 seat ampitheater to set up today. I will check in after work,

Rgr Glad to hear that you found out what the trouble was. I used to use ATI cards myself. Then I started to have issues with then so I switched back to using Nvidia cards. I am using a PCIe 8500GT 1gig 128bit and haven't had any troublem with any of the Flight Sims. Hopefully I should be done with Joint-Ops by 11:00 hrs. I think this is my last class and test. And then if I pass this one, then it is Grad. on Friday. I be on Tides od War TS as soon as class is over with.
