This thread needs expansion, but editing the .mis file in notepad allows you to easily edit the orientation of objects:

757_Static vehicles.stationary.Stationary$Wagon6 2 111144.72 95916.12 360.00 0.0

The Red group is the orientation and this is the default oreintation when the item is inserted. Basically add degrees to the 360.00 to change its orientation.

The Yellow group is the location. How that relates to the Grid code I have yet to work out.

Found this at the UBI ZOO.......

In addition, you can free-rotate the object from within the FMB.

1. Place the object

2. Go into '3D' mode (Zoom in close enough to make out terrain details, press "Enter")

3. Press F5 then press the right mouse button. As the mouse moves the object rotates.

4. Once aligned to suit click "Save"

My tests have shown that the object retains the orientation given it using this method.

Hope this was helpful.

As you can see I am no better at this than anyone else - The whole idea is a pool of collective knowledge to help all. Please assume the person reading this has very little clue about any of it.
I tried this last night while building a mission and the easiest way to do is zoom in the object and use the number (4) key to rotate the image to how you want it pointed, and then unselect.
