Wierd connection issue

Hi fellas I tried to connect to the server tonight with my clean install of IL2 and the AAA 1.1 mod, I might have something wrong but I can connect to many other servers same server specs but not our server. Even when i switch to 4.08 i can hit other servers but not The other TOW server here are some pics any ideas would be great. 1st set of pics show another server same specs then the next two are here and the result.

We will have to wait to hear from our Air Marshal Gosling, ODB Baker or one of the MCVG-2 or ToW IL@ guys to know the real explanation etc.. but..

our ToW:Slybirds server is 4.08M. This is a version I have and I've joined that server.

The ToW:MCVG-2 server is version: 4.09b1m+UI1.1

The ToW:MCVG-2 server you may not be able to join unless you get the same version. Seems to me you are running a different version.

i don't know for sure, but it appears you join the EZ server (Tow:Slybirds) if you get back to the 4.08m version.

Thanks for the info I switched to the 4.08m I can hit AAA they are running 4.08m but same result if I hit the Slybird No biggie just trying to get squared away.

... it is a biggie .. if one of our can't get on our own server!

So.. lets pick this apart.

The version of the Slybirds is 4.08m .. standard.

If you can't join that server via Hypperlobby.. try connecting direct.

If you get an error or something is preventing.. lets get more detail as you may not be the only one affected. Take a screen shot of the steps or at least the error screen.

See if you can help us de-bug what you problem is.. we may come up against this with another player and it sure would be nice to be able to have a ready made solution.

I have checked the servers and they were both unserviceable because teh Log files had filled up to overflowing and thus caused the start of the game to be delayed beyond the time when your game times out.

I have now fixed the problem I beleive, but we will see with time.

Again, many thanks for reporting this - It is very difficult to fully test servers when woorking directly upon them and we, her at tides, rely on you our pilots to report these faults. Thanks.

Hi fellas thanks for all the help. sorry to report no joy its so odd different servers 4.08m to 4.09 1.1 i'm able to connect just not the TOW odd thing i get a brief flash, connection successful and others on the server see me pop on but the i get this message screenie to follow.

Whoo hoo update and maybe some info, apparently some servers don't like certain characters in your hyperlobby user name i changed from ToW:LJ to ToWLJ and wallah problem solved thanks for all the help.

update: same applied to the Slybirds server 4.08m so I'm good to go.

Goosling.. there is always some "odd" thing we have to address.. lol

ToW:Name is common, however I think it was for IL2 ToW_Name.

Reason for not allowing ":" is probably due to a security thing for the software we are using. We will check that out and if the ":" can be allowed, we will make the change.

LJ you can "proof" that the TAG issue is not involved with HyperLobby by joining the 408 server direct by IP number.

See.. we are using two different version of HyperLobby for reasons known to us, but LJ's problem might be related to one of those HL versions??

This is excellent info and thanks.

We are using the same sversion of HL for both servers. Having said that our server names both have ":" in so we may need to change this - I have not had many snags so I need more reports of failures please.

Direct connecting would help to identify if this is actualla an HL snag or a server snag as Tbar suggests.
