Ill do my best SANS commo,Wed 12-17-08 Server is reset.
We will need to fly CAP in vicinity of these carriers and go after the Jap bases very agressively now in force. Cap and land their bases if necessary and engage them on the ground where you find them.
Take to the skies

Update.....
As of 1400 Hours 18 December 08, there now appears to be a secondary allied fleet to the North West of the main spawnable allied fleet on the Okinawa 1945 server. The exact composition of the secondary fleet appears to be smaller in size with what looks to be two full size aircraft carriers surrounded by either destroyers and or Merchants. The ships in this fleet appear to be much closer together than the main fleet we spawn in on. I expect that this new fleet is set in place to be used as a set of targets for the Axis forces to destroy instead of the ships we depend to fly away from in game.
Thanks to my new skill I learned from Flatspin last night in the Bomber Class, I would never have known that this new fleet exists if I had not flown over it up at 19,000 feet returning from a High Level Bombing run on Ie Shima.

FYI...
There is now a secondary Northern US Naval TF in vicinity of grid square "B-9". Size if approximately (2) full size carriers and (1) Jeep carrier surrounded with some escorts and merchants. The location of this TF relative to the primary TF is to the North West.
From what I've heard from Sakagawa, this new TF should also see Corsairs as well as some other relative aircraft.
Currently, if you try to spawn in on this particular fleet, you come in as an air start over the allied island base. This might be good for us considering the extra loadout options we could muster up. Can you say Napalm anyone ??
Also, B-24 Bombers are coming to the server as well to spawn in on at the allied base supposedly. Particular tactics will need to be used regarding these bombers usage considering they do very well up above 22,000 feet fuel wise.
Stay tuned for updates..

I noticed a post on the VBF-12 server about this:

I think the restriction of unopposed bombing is a good idea for everyone.

I was present on the server yesterday when Sluggo was trying to make a "Drug Deal" with Sakagawa over the use of the B-24 in the server when Sakagawa made his first announcement saying that new aircraft would be present after the next map reset. When I objected openly about this to Sluggo and to Sakagawa, Sakagawa said nothing to me and Sluggo just played stupid with me and said nothing.
I don't know who Sluggo thinks he is and why he thought it was his job to start making any sort of deals with Sakagawa that directly impacts other squads in general when NOTHING in that server is enforceable anyways.
Its interesting to note that nobody gives a damn when our carriers are destroyed and put out of commission by Jap Torpedo bombers in the 47th Sentai. You hear no concern from any of the Blue Squads. The server runs around the clock as a result. Why should the prevention of the B-24 be restricted as well ? I say we just use the new aircraft to our advantage and wipe everything off the map.
You have to understand the mindset of Sakagawa. If he is in a position to dominate you, he will do exactly that. If you get the drop on him before he tries to shoot you down, he gets upset.
You start placing too many "unwritten" rules into that server, people will stop showing up and fly elsewhere.
Thats just my opinion from what I've seen flying in there over the past few months.
Very good point about unwritten rules.
I have always found Sakagawa to be the a quaility aviator - He is quite happy when either he is winning a combat as losing. He appreciates the good sport had by all.
I have noticed that his airstations are generally wrecked all the time, unless the server has just reset. I suspect the idea of resetting the server and comming back to it later (euro time) and finding it wasted again might be getting a little tedeous.
I only know of one occasion when the carriers have been attacked and it appears VBF-12 seem to be able to still operate okay.
Any rules could be easily put into the text on screen during play so I might mention this to Sakagawa.
It is interesting that the recent changes to the server have all been to the US advantage. It seem to ne that the US side is heavily positively biased at the moment with additional carrier fleet and B24 Liberator which I have now flown and is an Awesome aircraft.
Shall I mention your comments to Sluggo. He was probably recognising the (imo) imbalance toward the US side in this server and trying to compensate a little.
Gos
PS - I find the phrase "D**g D**l" rather excecssive and a little offensive mate, and I personnally would prefer if you would not use it, and from a Tides point of view I would not want tidesofwar appearing under any google search using that phrase, thanks. I hope you appreciate my openess and honesty, mate."

I used that term "DD" as it is soldiers slang over here in the states. Sluggo is a former Marine Infantry Officer and if anyone understands this kind of slang spoken, its guys like him and I and others like us. He knows I'm a former Infantry NCO and we speak a common language when particular issues come to light such as this that create ripples in discipline and morale. My comments are directed towards him and his underhandedness with Sakagawa that just popped out of the blue.
Now regarding the server. Many of us here in the Group fly this server every day. We hardly see VBF-12 in there on the same scale as MCVG-2 and especially over the last few days of flight ops. When I look at who actually flies in that server, I can tell you from personal experience who is active and who isn't. You've been in that server now what...two or three times ? I'm sure you understand my point.
This particular thread is within our "CIC" or Combat Information Center". Whats spoken here is for the "squad" to see and to understand, not to be challanged and debated over with those who aren't in the MCVG. You don't see any of us in the VBF-12 forums challanging anything, so please lets "stay in our lane".
Now, this issue over "google" searches is just plain silly. I don't want to constantly have this issue of having a stick held over our heads every time we say something that others may not like. We are supposed to be "Men", not pansies so lets not jump to conclusions over what we consider whats "just" and whats "not". If you try to enforce some code of ethics over other faceless people here, you will see participation and interaction fall away to the way side.
The issue with the OKINAWA 1945 map and it being biased towards the United States versus the Japs is actually correct historically speaking. The battle for Okinawa was Japans last major fight in the Pacific. Once Okinawa fell, it was just a matter of time till mainland Japan was invaded in force. To prevent such widespread slaughter on both sides of the war, the Atomic Bomb was used to swiftly bring Japan and their leaders to their knees.
Personally, I've flown with Sakagawa for some time now. I knew his squad when it had just three guys in it. They have come a long ways since trying to get people and other squads to just fly in their server when they are seen as a dedicated Ki-84b Squadron in a PTO setting. Sakagawa's view of what he thinks FISC is, is considered pretty short sighted in my view especially over the time I've known him.
The aircraft we have now in game, we didn't have before and by flying the TBM not to mention other aircraft like the Charlie model Corsair has been a boost of morale for those allied squads who dare to show up.
Here is an interesting fact that perhaps you didn't know but if it were not for my extensive promotion of the OKINAWA 1945 server as an American, we would not see the same level of participation that we see today as a result of my promoting this servers existance on Hyperlobby for many months. I think with the aircraft we have now in game, the "historical" aspect comes to light instead of having to deal with Oleg's version of a Japanese "Clown Car" flown by Sakagawa and company.
There aren't many people out there who are interested in fly PTO in the FISC Community from what we have seen since IL-2 is mostly directed towards the ETO as well as the MTO. There are other squads out there like the FA or Fallen Angels who view the Ki-84 as just another perverted aircraft that isn't historically correct in flight characteristics yet is on the same par as the Spitfire 25lb.
Yes, the 200th Sentai is a European group of pilots. Actually, they are all Polish in nature and nationality. Yes, they are outstanding formation fliers but are marginal combat pilots and can be beaten in force when met with good wingman tactics as well as numbers in the virtual skies. The 47th Sentai has learned the same lesson but are completely opposite from the 200th. The 47th are good combat pilots but are marginal formation pilots and can be beaten as well.
The argument about being in a European squad and coming into your server in your time zone to find your airfields destroyed by either Heavy Bombers or by Jabo efforts is apart of the experience flying here with one acception. No matter how much you "destroy" the static objects of the Blue bases, any pilot can still spawn into that airfield and take off regardless of how much damage that air base has sustained. The same argument doesn't hold any weight when we find our carrier flight decks destroyed from multiple torpedo strikes that doesn't allow any of our aircraft to take off successfully from the Naval TF, be it Corsair or TBM. Carrier pilots now have to consider flying some USAAF aircraft that they may not like or have any interest in flying in this sim so now we have an issue with morale and interest. I see and understand the big picture, others may not or care not to. This is just a game afterall.
I've been on Team Speak when some of our guys come into the server to find that our carriers aren't able to support our aircraft to take off from properly. All I hear is, "I just want to fly a Corsair or a TBM" and when we try to "explain" why that isn't happening at that particular moment, I hear an earful of frustration and that player or players just end up leaving the server entirely to go fly somewhere else or to just log off from HL entirely. So who is the looser here ? The host of this server is the 200th Sentai. They have to attract squads like the MCVG-2 and the VBF-12 which are typically American and the plane sets and the virtual settings have to mirror what was considered historical or atleast semi historical during that time frame late in the war in the Pacific.
With regards to Sluggo, he already understands my position regarding his actions with Sakagawa and trying to dictate the usage of the B-24 as a whole that would impact other squads participation directly. Sluggo is just another virtual pilot who is hardly seen. I know him from FS and he is hardly seen there as well yet he tries to dictate what is "right" versus whats considered "wrong" when it comes to what squads can "fly" in game at any particular time.
Ok, I want to wrap up this whole debate and explanation here. Points have been made and arguments heard and responded to. Lets just be thankful that we have a sim to enjoy with some respective servers to choose from and to enjoy.
Have a very joyous and wonderful New Years everyone and lets pray that 2009 will be a better year for everyone.

Good Post Rino
Christmas done and I hope you had a good one. New year to come and I wish you and the whole of MCVG-2 a great year.
You make some excellent posts here. I totally agree with the US bias. Very historic and I can see why Sakagawa has agreed to it. Makes it a target rich environment as far as he is concerned as well.
I also take your point about making guidelines that affect squadrons (like 3rd BG) that were are not envolved in the formulation of those rules.
I also take your point about this being a closed forum - Its so easy to forget that not all these forums are open to the public when you have access to them all. I would not want to limit good dialogue.
I think it is really important that noone takes the moral high ground on any issue and that all opinions are respected as such. For me, I stear well clear of comments about anyones flying abilty or style, probably as I regularly fail to impress in any aircraft and I'm the chap who is supposed to know how to do it... LOL....
So, here's to a new year and lets make it a successful MCVG-2 one.
