You guys should consider getting a IRC channle on gamesnet it be awsome to talk live

We actually have better than that - we have a Jabber server here on tidesofwar.net. Jabber allows instant messaging as well as multi-user chat. It also has gateways to other IM services like MSN. Like IRC, you're not tied to using any one vendor's software either.

Oh, and did I mention East uses it too?

How do you use it

Head on Over to: http://www.miranda-im.org/ and grab the application. its kind'a like a Multi- Instant messenger but for use with Jabber as well.

Set it up as per usual methods

The server is: tidesofwar.net

and hopefully you should end up connecting and possibly greeted too.

Hey guys, i've downloaded that chat and icq and still can't figure out how it works hehe huh:

Open it up and click on the Miranda Icon (next to Status, top left), Select Options.

select Network > Jabber

Enter Your Detials (as an Example):

Username: BlindSite

Password: whatever you choose

Resource: Miranda

Login Server: tidesofwar.net

Port: 5222

In Expert Field

[x] Keep Connection Alive

User Directory: users.tidesofwar.net

Click Apply and > Register New User

that should be all. You can Change your Status on Jabber from the jabber client 'Status' to Online, Offline, etc,etc.

To allow yourself to be searchable on the jabber userlist click the Miranda Icon again, Goto Jabber > Agents > Select users.tideofwar.net > Register button should now be clickable. fill in detials as desired.
