The 200th Sentai is a relatively new IJA PTO squad that hosts and runs their server from Poland. There are approximately 5-7 pilots in this squadron.

Strengths: Fantastic formation work.

Weaknesses: Gunnery is poor while in combat and they tend to spray and pray while engaged in a dogfight. Their situational awareness is also marginal at best thus allowing an easy approach to engage from their blind spots.

Recent combat reports indicate that if you can knock down their leadership, the remainder of the flight becomes disoriented and breaks contact with an enemy force.

Habits: Tends to fly in pairs in a close formation mostly in Line Abreast. This squad also tends to fly mostly BARCAPS from one known point to another typically on the Western side of Okinawa.

Altitudes found at: Low to mid level altitudes.

New update as of 12-11-08.

In a recent dog fight encounter with the 200th Sentai up at 20,000 feet altitude, I've now noticed that this unit is starting to use a special (2) ship formation where you find an element flying in Right or Left Echelon fairly close with (1) single aircraft not to far off to one side (Left / Right) but at a distance say 300 meters away approximately. I believe that the single aircraft may be a key leader with the two ship formation being less experienced pilots.

After analyzing this formation from a high perch, I made a diving attack from the leaders high six O'clock position and dove to a position to be on his low six O'clock and closed to a suitable engagement range. Unfortunately, the single ship heard my engine versus his as I attempted to close on him exploiting his blind spot and he split "S"'d and away as a result of my presence. I'm not sure if he saw me or just reacted to my presence via sound.

Flying conservatively and being patient, I didn't take the bait to chase this single ship further but did notice that the two ship formation turned in the direction of the key leader and I extended away but above and through the two ships formation heading the opposite direction scoring a quick deflection shot on one of the enemy aircraft that was in formation as it passed below me.

The lesson here is, if I had been inpatient and pressed the attack on the lone ship that was diving away, I would have allowed the two ship formation to close on my six O'clock which would have put me into dire straits.

My tactic did allow me to break contact only to reengage this same formation who continued to use the same formation several minutes later thus scoring a victory on one of the unsuspecting pilots in the tight Echelon formation before I was able to climb back up to altitude from my high perch originally to RTB.

This initial scenario started as a 3 : 1 against me.

Aircraft encountered: Ki-841b
