Joker,

There is no doubt your passionate about our matches :)

I'm serious also :)

I think .. maybe .. you might have got the guys on pins and needles that first half. I sensed a lot of tension that 1 and 2nd round of the first half.. thus my comments .. relax guys.. fly easy.. take it easy. I think it got results because we won the 3rd round.. and almost the 4th.

2nd half after the break .. everyone chills out a little bit .. flys a little more relaxed .. and we kick ass.

Now honestly, I don't know.. but I do know I did sense 'tension'... and really no reason for it. Hehe.. I did warn you BBC was a lot better then you were giving them credit for :)

Dynamics .. they came right at us from the very start.. very aggressive. You made the right call that third round.. go right at'em guys .. when you saw they were gonna come right at us again. No doubt a good call, I would have done the same.

When I suggested we needed to keep a 'high pilot' .. you made another really good call putting burton, zarn and tbar on the high side ... it worked. I'm still trying to figure out why that worked so well. Maybe it was because we had the few seconds to 'think' and scope the battle field. ONe thing for sure.. almost all the BBC was down on your four .. while Zarn Burton and I had time to concentrate and pic targets.

I know this.. I had NO kills that first half .. and 11 kills the 2nd half.

As a Team .. we are still seeing different pilots every week. But what does seem constant: Joker, Tbar, Buron, Zarn .. every week. I think we need to exploit this a bit and take advantage of that somehow. Coldfire is working out well .. if he can be that 5th constant .. that might work out also.

I also have to admit.. that 1 and 2nd round. . I was really scrambling to get my stick working right. For some reason.. the game didn't recognize my stick.. the when I did check off that I was using a stick .. came in almost right at scramble for the first half .. stick just did not calibrate right. Scramble on the 2 round.. I ran someone off the runway because My plane just would not turn. So maybe if I got my stick working right before the 3rd round.. maybe things would have been different. This I don't really know.

I'll say this.. I'm feeling a lot better about what I see the BSS doing as a whole.. than I did 4 weeks ago :) BIG difference .. positive difference. I won't be surprised to see us stumble a bit.. but I suspect we will pick our self up if that does happen and move right along again :)

I agree, yesterday was pretty darn good, for a number of reasons.

Joker, regarding T-Bars comments on the team being anxious?. my two penneth ;).

I agree we were rubbish in that first round, not sure why! And we took a hiding. Arguably we needed a shake up, but on reflection, I think the comments you made after the first round didn?t help. What I remember hearing were aimless negative comments like, ?what you guys playing at? or ?what?s up guys? .. ?what were you doing? kinda stuff. And delivered 'passionately' .... now that?s me being terribly English and avoiding harsh words like ?aggressively? or even ?angrily? ;)

To my mind, what was missing from those comments was any guidance, constructive criticism ?. In fact leadership. And we did little better for the second round.

Contrast this with round three. The comments you made, and decisions you took, were constructive, succinctly communicated, decisive and my word were they correct ? we won round three, and almost got round 4. I cant remember what we did in round 5, apart from losing it ;) Then a second simple change to strategy ( sending three of us high ) and we had them. In fact, while I am pleased with the result ? especially as we recovered from 4-1 down, I now think we should have won that ?. LOL look at me getting all ambitious ? my how far BSS has come ;)

So, I think we are a formidable LTS squad, we now have three tactics.

1. Head to Left Hand corner climbing

2. Go straight at em

3. Split high / low going straight at em?

And how good was that 3rd tactic. I think the extra time for T-Bar, Zarn and I certainly made a difference giving us time to analyse the arena. I found in the second half when I first engaged, I was able to call out a smoking bandit ? get an easy kill, then as I climbed away I found I could engage a hostile on a BSS 6, and get hits on a second bandit. Great stuff.

As for the core pilots, I think we can add Tango to that list. He is a great pilot and attends all practices / matches. He has been very reluctant to give instructions when defending your 6, but I have been on his case a little taking opportunities to encourage him to tell me what to do !! And he started doing that yesterday? And Rew, I think he has some talent too, and he seems to be making all events lately as well, I hope he sticks around. Plus those T-bar mentioned AND we still have Maddawg and his brother to get back on line? The future is very bright.

Oh yeah, I was a little upset with that first round and the second round I wasn't very happy there either. A lot of turn fighting going on. I'm sure we could of had that second round. When I went high and rolled over on top of the engagement. We already had our people in turn fights. I was trying to figure out how this was happening since I was at the end of the pack.

I think that our guys where getting over excited and turned in instead of going up. When I started my climb the closest of the BBC guys was 7000 feet away.

I got to the top rolled back and was then taken out by Danger I think it was.

I'm seing a lot more aggressiveness in these LTS matches. It is not often a team will start coming at you from the start and just keep coming round after round.

TKFM did this and now BBC. I think that yesterday we came up with a good solution to this and we improved by sending guys high. We need to keep working on this.

If you'll remember. TKFM used a box formation coming at us. The best I can explain this is picture a box or square, now put a pilot at each corner. You have 2 high and two low. IF you go at the high guys the low guys come up to get you. If you go low the high pilots come down to get you. This makes it hard to defend against. It would take a lot of discipline for our guys to fly, so for now I think the HI /LO is what we should use. Maybe even incorporate it into our regular attack plan. We get up to our normal altitude with several pilots and have the rest lag behind but climbing higher.

Maybe have a group at 15K and another at 20K+. So far most of our engagements seem to occur between 15 and 18K, however we have had some guys coming at us higher than 20K and I just don't understand how they get that high. I need to find out how they are getting so high in so little time.

Not sure how to handle that, maybe just do what we do best and do our climb roll over and get speed like we have been doing, or maybe do like BBC did and get aggressive from the start.

I need some help here.

Another item to address is not having the team practices as a whole. We cannot have a good practice and have everybody working on the same page if they do not show up for the team practice on Sundays.

Just having a few people is ok, but we cannot try anything new nor can have a sufficient amount of players to try anything new.

We need to have enough players at least 10 show up for the practices. There is no reason why this can't happen.

Yesterday there where 5 people who showed up for practice, Tango, Coldifre, Zarn, Rew and Myself.

We went did a couple of take offs and climbs, and then proceeded to 2 vs 3.

Still if we wanted to try what was stated in my previous post, we couldn't do it nor could we test it.

I think your right, we did fall into the turn fighting trap in the first couple of rounds.

We need to press home the idea that its not about attacking to kill, more about hit hard - damage, and escape, leaving the enemy hurt bad ... a low threat and to be collected some time later.

I would like to think that yesterdays example - how well the plan worked and how good this hit, hurt and escape strategy worked is the best lesson ever.

And CC your comments about practice. I say just keep doing what your doing, attendance is up for matches and practice. A little success helps, and were getting a lot of success. BUT I think its no coincidence that we also have a great bunch of guys, who enjoy each others company, and make practice and matches fun and enjoyable.

Zip-a-dee-doo-da ...
