It?s not the oil companies. OK, the prize for a barrel oil increases dramatically too but the biggest part for the prize you have to pay is the tax, not the oil itself. Therefore you better blame your government....But by raising the prices so high right now the oil company's are
just pushing us to find other way's much sooner.
Well, at least over here in Germany it is the tax.
And you?re absolutely right, you?ll be pushed to find other ways and hopefully the selection of alternatives is as promising as it is over here. You?ll even get tax exemption or at least tax reduction, if you chose a certain alternative energy to warm your house and water for domestic use.
But somehow I have the feeling we are always talking about ?cars?, when talking about oil-prizes.
