What is wrong with our community?

Just to clarify the postions Nitro m8 as you mentioned Kid Pop and Action,

I was the voice of USHA for a few months after Kid became director as I was second voice at that time. After I caught a "bug" up my arse with somebody within the group in a leadership position, I quit the position in haste very angered. This was a premature decision on my part fueled by emotion rather than clear thinking. The situations where talked about between the parties and myself and we came to a better understanding and resolution to our percieved differences. But just to show you what happens when you act immaturely and make decisions based on emotion or machismo.

Also it shows that thier isnt a hidden agenda or "clique" within the usaac, just members who do have very different ideas and opinions hopefully with the same goal of the betterment of the AA community in mind. There isnt this grand feeling of love between the bod but rather an understanding that all involved have a say within the goings on of the game. We frequently do take apart and discuss the issues and presentations.

In short..the idea of the US community good idea! Maybe not perfect but also willing to adapt.

The titles of the positions.. I agree with Tulla.. I believe the names perhaps can be revisited by the group especially after more than one person has eluded to the "theme" that the names may present.

The Idea of having all the communities under one umbrella I also like... going back to the suggestion of incorporating it to the clp....good idea...everyone in the game..especially new players and computer non savvy players will benefit from an easier place to start and navigate..also making all communiites easier to pop in on each other....

rational discussion......this is the way things will get done...not by saying Inferno is idiot for posting this thought or nitro is a (*&% for wanting to discuss that...( only as an example ) even when it is happening to you.

Viciuos and vindictive dont belong in a productive exchange....

Onward

Hi Inferno and Hawk,

You two made me feel better and calm down. My hat off two u 2. Now that what I called being professional about doing your jobs. And I do agree with both that its time we left the nest and be independent away from Tides of War. And if we do that, i will donate $60 for our first year of hosting USA Air Attack site. And for the record who ever the GUEST was that posted about the ad banners and tulla wasn't me. LOL, but he is 100% correct. And as for TOW Air Boss for his nasty reply to me, that's understandable since his squad TOW= Tides of War have their reasons to trying to keep USA Air Attack on their forums.

thanks,

Nitro

I don?t know, if Tbar makes money with the adds on the site. And I?m not interested in this. After all it would be his right to do so. Everone can upload a website and fill it up with adds anyway, in order to either cover only the costs for the host or even making profit from the adds. But believe me, its not much what you get for displaying adds. In most cases you only get money, if a user clicks an advertisement-banner and will be re-directed to the site of the advertiser. With only approx. 100 regular USAAC-users and noone clicks a banner, Tbar or ToW-net or whoever is responsible for the adds, can hardly ?earn?money and barely cover the costs for the hosts.

We could do also, over at TAA but decided against adds, since we don?t want to disturb our users with adds and popups and other non-game related content. We have to pay the costs for the host out of our own pocket then and we do. Some spending more money, some less, some nothing but it doesn?t mean those who are donating more, having more to say than the others, or having more influence. We decide together what we are going to do in a democratic way.

Afaik the UKAAC decided against adds too and rather collects donations from its users. Also totally voluntarily and noone is forced to it.

I?m sorry if I have p----- you off but this is the way it is. All facts, nothing to hide.

Folks getting p----- off too easily nowadays. Take care. :)

Guest_Guest has posted comments that contain unnecessary personal insults. Guest_Guest has been warned already not to do this. Although we do not censor opinions we do insist on standards of civil behavior. In my opinion Guest_Guest has crossed the line and I am rendering his post invisible pending a review.

The community's apologies to Tbar and Tulla for these remarks.

I would inform Guest_Guest by pm but he/she has chosen to remain anonymous.

Well said Tulla, and after reading and see the means need to justify the ends with the usa site, then why didnt they ask for members to donate? Why? is it a matter of over head or making a substantial gain first? And if I recall there are many sites that offer free hosting and allow php and MySql and all needed to run a site, but Tulla since you said you liked a free party new and had an ideal business like feel (reading between the lines of what you posted Tulla) makes me wonder.

I didn?t wrote something between the lines. There are several ways to cover the costs for hosts, as I?ve described above. The free-webhosting is also only free because you?ll have to bear with adds on the site. Additionally the administrative options on free hosts are limited/ restricted and never fulfill the requirements, you need to have for such a compex site.

Afaik there was a ?donate-button?on the home-page of the USAAC, is it gone ?

I?m sure there is one on the Tow-net home-page. If it?s not that easy to find, be glad. Maybe they?re too shy to ask for donations ? If so, it is symphatic to me, though there is nothing wrong with asking for donations.

hey guest you was right about very low overhead. I found out that it only cost the owner of Tides of War only $6.85 per year to have the rights to www.Airattack.us domain name from www.godaddy.com. And as for what it costing him to have USA Air Attack on his Tides of War forums ? Not a single penny. Because he just created a name USA Air Attack on his Tides of War forum he already had in place. And as for team speak, once again he just created a name USA Airattack one his team speak he already had in place . And as for the front page of USA Air Attack site. Once again he just added a webpage from his Tides of War hosting site. For history information. Tides of War gaming site was created 1999. Been up and running for the last 8 years. But ask your self the most important question of all. Why the owner of Tides of War so dead set against USA Air Attack having a place of its own ? He claims he costing him lots of money keeping USA Attack site on his Tides of War Site. Very strange. Another thing i found very strange, the hosting site where he has his Tides of War on advertise no ad banners and no pop up ad. So why all the ad banners in all of Tides of War forums and website ? Also he claim he doesn't make a penny off those ad banners, then what is the point of keeping the ad banners in place ? Why not take them down if he doesn't get a single penny from those companies in those ads ?
thanks,

Nitro
