We have a new website in the works...

I guess it justs the things that I have heard that just seem to nag at me. I'm probably writing more into it than what it actually is.

I'll just leave it at that and and be a happy and content little sheep. Image

I like the new site. It looks a lot nicer (in my opinion) than our present site. I think it will have better functionality than our present site and hopefully the forums will follow the same basic design. I definitely do not like our forums in their present shape and style.

With all due respect to Tbar and the work he has put into the USAAC.

He has put alot of time into the club site.

However in the interest of the general US pilots, and Tbars sanity. Image

I believe we should break the club off of TOW.

I know many of us dont see a problem with being connected with TOW,

But it has stirred up alot of controversy with the general public.

So to stop the attacks on Tbar about the club being connected to tow

I say we should move the site away from TOW.

The cost is very minor, A domain name of about $10 or 20 dollers a year .

At least thats what I've heard. Firestorm can host it no charge on a server he has.

I'm not sure of all the details on that Firestorm would fill in the blanks.

Remember kids this site does not belong to any one person ,nor does it belong to the BOD. It is the US clubsite and should listen to all involved in it.

Well, I'm still against moving anything to do with the USAAC This one or the new site. Fact is, it seems we are just trying to satisfy some ungrateful people to hush them up, if only for a little while. When something once again doesn't go their way they will complain again, make accusations and once again will we bow down to demands or stand on our own two feet and tell them to go to hell. Eventually, if you just ignore the butt holes they'll go away.

I cannot see any benefit from moving the site form ToWNet. The USAAC site is ours to do what we chose to do with it be it here or on some other site that we'll have to pay for. I think ToWNet does us a great favor and helps us introduce new player into the game as I have stated earlier in another part of the forums.

I just do not see ANY advantage to a move the site. Just my opinion.

By the way did I mention that I love the style, look and functionality of the nee USAAC site. Great work Boys!!!

Gentlemen,

This thread was started to get approval on a new site look and construction so the folks doing the work could move on. What is the point of doing the work if the BoD does not want a new look and feel ... a move improved functionally .. and being a leader in the AA World with such a site? We want to be "state of the art" site.. as well as a gee-wiz, holy cow, wonder site! :)

It was not the intent of this thread to discuss "where it is hosted". For the point of this thread that discussion is not needed in this topic. Lets give the people who are working on this site the input they need .. not what they don't need.

Again when you look at the new site.. its a 'sneak peak'

Don't be too concerned about colors and buttons, that is all 'minor' and 'quick' changes to the designers.

Don't be too concerned about links that don't work yet, you know it will all work perfectly before any grand opening.

What the WebMaster needs .. is simple approval to move on before a lot of man hours and effort is put in. What we are giving the Webmaster is "apprehensions" instead of 'input' on the work. Where the site is hosted is a minor detail to the overall site construction.

Please.. lets stick to the intended topic.

Thank you

PS: I've started a topic on "hosting" so you can certainly express 'constructive' opinion and make a decision in that thread.
