R-E-S-P-E-C-T! Even though we didn't win!

Well gents, once again, we fell short of our goal of winning a match, but along the way of this arduous journey I see changes that other teams make which shows that we are getting our due respect from them. The Warships, yesterday, instead of flying us man for man, chose to fly 7 pilots against our 6, at least until Coldfire made it to the match in the second half. I believe that this is the 3 squad to do that this year. In fact for quite a long period of time it was 7 vs 5 when we lost Zarn to connection problems. In time past a squad would fly equal to us, If we had 4 pilot they would only put up 4, if we had 7, they would put up 7. Not anymore. Now if they can get and advantage, they take it. The only relief that we have had this year is from Rebellen. I sent a personal message to him to thank him for not putting us in a hard pin. It was obvious and their C/O responded in like mind to me that they wanted us to get up and fly a little.

So, my little Black Sheep, we are making short strides in our efforts. We are gaining the respect from other squads even though we are not winning. Perhaps they would like for us to not ever win a match, it may be possible, but I see that very unlikely. Our time is coming and it is coming soon!

Here are the scores from yesterdays match with Warships:

Hi Boss,

I had a great conversation with [WARSHIP]H-SkyStar in FFA this evening. We talked through Sunday's match, he was complementary about our perfromance, attitude, and identified our better players. I discussed how much I learnt about their "team" play etc etc - pretty much as I said in the de-brief.

Anways - I asked if I could fly with them in a practice to learn how they communicate and tactics n stuff. He wasn't able to sanction this - not being the CO, but he went a step further and suggested we might go for a joint team practice where we split the teams so we can all see what they do.

We took actions to mention it to our respective CO's...

So that was me mentioning it ;)

IMHO - I reckon its a terriffic idea.

Bravo Burton, This would probably be a good idea and I would love to do this. I have discussed this at times before with some other squad leaders and we pretty much have the same ideas. The only thing that holds us back is getting the squad members to the practice. I'm really gun shy because my squad has let me down often in the past by not attending. If we could get a commitment, I'd be happy to set it up.

So Mr. Burton, Here is a little project for you. Get commitments from the squad and I'll set it up.

Gadzooks ... sounds like a challenge !!

Ok - as you say turn out must be guaranteed. So I suggest we aim for mid/end September, once everyone ( at least in in the northen hemisphere ) will have had their holidays/vacations.

Certainly Blue wing would have the 4 of us back and available.... Therefore if I arrange for the blue wing 4, plus you and Tbar we will only need to secure 2 more commitments and we are there. And we have plenty of reliable support in the young guns / Antipodean and Latin American wings. ... LOL so no need to limit this to 8 pilots :D

Lorks a lordy that was easy .... gimme another :D
