Hi.

Wel Liz do not worry, Iam not heading destruction build just yet, even though alot of raiding Locks are using a destruction style builds, even if its for the 1st 11 points or SM/Ruin builds which is a typical 40/0/21. So they have enough points into destruction to improve fire based spells range on destruction spells and improved SB. Then maing use of stronger/longer DoTs, mana tapping pets and chance to proc instant SB. All in all the Sm/ruin build woould be a good choice for raiding and pve.

Missed my skill up tonight on tailoring so no FSW chest for me ;(. But if I can get on tomorrow night(Dani aggro allowing) then fingers crossed I can farm enough cloth to remake dusts, make imbuned cloth and pray the skill up gods are smiling. PvP points got a good boost so 20kish off weapon upgrade.

Rocking ego I mean dps meters is something I won't worry too much about xD. Have BGs for doing that. Raiding is about supporting the raid as a whole. So as long as I do my part and manage ok dps I can sleep at night ;0).

NCIS is on so ttfn.

P.S. the 0/21/40 specc relies on the Lock being aloud to sac their imp pet for the 15% improvement to fire spells. So if RL says no the specc is still sound but loses alot of its punch, but is the raid spec alot of guilds want their Locks to be and have a affliction built Lock in MTs grp for the hp buff.

Hiyas.

A massive Thank you to Buxton for the cloth. Managed to make enough mats to retry for the skill up last night, and it was enough to hit the magic 375. I will send Lost and Caro my last two mats I have atm to do the combines for shadow cloth, and depending on AH I may go buy the rest.

As for the Battlecast Leggings. Iam saving up for the Primal mights atm. I reckon one week of farming then trading certain blue drops will make enough gold to buy all eight in one hit. But its a weeks worht of waiting so fully understand if the offer no longer there due to demand of PNs for epic grafting.

Still grinding for PvP points atm. Theres no arena buddies atm and I do not want to break the team myself and Barco have got up and running. So aiming for the s1 staff for now and then going for the 12+spell power gems, then may reset + hit jobs in the other slots. Well that or spell power and crit.

Again Ty to all for their help so far, thus far Iam a little ahead on my need list and thansk to a good SV run nailed needed Rep and a Primal Nether :0).

hey rang

good to hear your equipment is getting better by the day now :) now conserning destruction/affliction speccing. Id like to point out 2 things first 1 i do not want anyone and i mean anyone respeccing just to raid its pointless and a real waste of time/gold. 2 i personally dont agree with respeccing at all the way i see it youve learned though your spec and got equipment based on that spec (there r a few ppl who do manage to keep a set of gear for each spec(yorga) but most of us dont have time/gold to dothatand it generally means redoing some proffessions which is a really big waste of time.

ok there is no raiding/non raiding specc for locks it all depends on how you play that spec really. theres alot of learnng of what you can do/cant do, can cat/shouldnt cast etc etc i wont go into big detail here cause it takes alotof time going though all the spells and saying which oneshould/shouldnt be use perspec.

destruction- this is generally the pref specc for bc due to not much is immune to fire in bc content(as they was prebc) and its only since then shown how poweful destruction can actually be. the main points of destruction spec r alot of burst damage and very high damage done with that inc a very high cri. the main downful of this is massive mana comsumption keeping ths kinda damage up and as a lock we dont have much mp as it is let aloe have a spec that really needs a high amount int good

affliction- this was the pritty much required specc prebc which alot of locks had got so bored of playing that when bc came out the destruction opening as very welomed so alot switched to it. the main points o this spec is aot of instant curses which over a long time deal alot of damage, which in turns means you save alot of mana cause you r just relying on curses nothing else. the downful for thisspec is just that you really r relying on the fight to last a very long time so you can get all your curses off and ticking.

eiter spec and the few other ones that combines these r ALL raid worthy you just really have to learn what you need to do with that spec and what you cant do with it. i hope this shed some light on the spec question it really is all down to how you wanna play it really if you wanna talk more bout it just use the lock channel thats what its for

lol, in my defense. Getting gear for a shaman is pretty easy.

Healing mail = shaman gear

Spelldmg mail = shaman gear

Mail Gear with Strength instead of AP = shaman gear (mostly)

Dragonscale LW has 2 mail sets: melee and elemental, which I both made.

a lil pvp does wonders for any bits and bobs you might need after that :)

only 3 flavours: Anything with nature or regular +spell dmg/crit/hit/mp5/int, Anything with melee stats, Anything with +heal/mp5/int.

And being able to wear mail/leather/cloth gives any unused loot the chance to become an upgrade.

Now for clothies you are bound by:

does this item fit my spec? (i.e. don't take shadow dmg when your fire based or vice versa) allthough you could need it when you should change spec.

does this item benefit another person in my group more? don't go rolling on pure mage items when your a lock and vice versa (not counting shadow priests as they usually have the same items)

Do I take hit or crit? (usually not both available)

Getting the different sets (made) can be a pain as the recipes are a drop rather than a trainer buy.

Half the world = cloth, and they all have their own set for their own spec driving prices high for mats.

Survivability and downtime while grinding... allthough locks can take care of their own ;)

but now back to the topic: yes stick to a spec you know and can perfect to do lots of _controlled_ dmg rather than goin the "raid" spec if there is one... giving you no feel for the spec/char and having to gear up/skill up once again...

Hiyas.

Well I have been Demon since Rang hit 10 ;0), but even the boosting from the newer talents I feel its better suited to grinding or PvPin. Destro is the raid build of choice but as my gear shows Iam not speccin towards fire or crit%. It is being built towards affliction with shadow damage being the main aim of most of my gear. May rebuild to include increased curses.

As for now my gear still off for SSC etc, used yorgas Imba link. But fingers crossed should see my FSW chest and battlecast leggings in 8 more days. And building PvP points when I can. Finished my Rep grinding for Scryer and CE is closing in on that last 21k lol. Starting the enchanting skill ups soon for the oils and need to max the skill to aquire more enchants.

Till then be safe.

Well my rogue can do the bracer, gloves and weapon +spelldmg enchants if its of any help. Just need mats ;)
Hi Yorga.

Buxton has given my new epic gloves some spell power lovin. As for bracer and weapon chants. My weapon atm would be a waste doing it to. Its a good new 70 blue but seeing Iam working towards the S1 staff I will hold off till I have that one in my grubby little hands.

The bracer is a 50/50 call atm. Its a good bracer with+30 spell power on it, buuuuuut the pvp one has better stats and would inch ahead in the spell damage side of things seeing it has a gem slot. Its a tough call and Iam still thinking over stat side of things.

But if and when I get said items I will be asking for enchanting loving if I do not have them scribed into my enchanting list by then. Well that and a bit low on mats atm lol. But Ty for the kind offer Yorg, think its a case of watch this space :0).
