Cant Hit Any Planes

Just bought this game. I tried the very first training mission. I have been unable to hit any planes with AI or the first person view?

Is it broke? Are there any instructions for the first person view. This view looks like it could be fun if it was possible to hit something.

I have got the sub torp training missions to work ok. Just cant get the guns to work??

the fighters are pritty hard to hit even with ai the bombers are easer. with the guns when the hatch is open u have to wat 20 secs for your crew to deply to the guns thay will fire on any other surface vessle if in range if you want to go first person right click on the gun icon on the display bar space is to fire

What faction are you playing as and are you sub or surf?

With poor firepower like on the Type-VII sub, they frankly ?}{$

The more AA guns on your ship the less time it takes to hit any plane.

eg. the German Type-VII uses 200 rounds where a Destroyer only uses 50, you got the point

Im playing the americans. The very first training mission with a surface ship a corvett.

Don't mean to sound flippant, but have you given the AA guns orders to defend?

I only mention this as you said that you have just bought the game, and you may have overlooked this in the midst of your General Action.

OK thanks. I found the swithc on the big tactical map. It works now. The manual is pretty poor. It made it sound like clicking a gun then fire would activate the AI.

It will if you also click on a target in the TAC or BTAC. From the manual:

OPTION 1 ? AI crew gunnery. Click one of the Gun

buttons to select all the guns of that type on your

vessel, then click an enemy ship icon in the tactical

map. Doing so designates that enemy as your target.

Press Fire. You can also select a target first,

press the desired gun type, and then fire.

When the enemy comes within the range and firing arc

of your selected guns, your ship?s AI crew will

automatically commence firing.

I don't see why, certainly not regarding your specific problem here. huh:

Might add that . In first person view , using a gun , ( as in the 3rd person observer view ) ,, Right clicking zooms in ,,and left clicking , back out ...

Of course Enigma looks so good , one doesn't want to waste any more time reading ALL the instructions at first !!!!

Don't forget you have to lead the AC to hit them unless they are coming dead at you. You can out shoot the AI AAA with a bit of practice.

One of my favorite thing to do is jump on a 20mm or 40mm and hammer aircraft. It is not very producticve for the Skipper to play in the AA tubs though
