BSS Change of the Guard

As many of you know I have been wanting to attend to some other projects and just have not had the time. I've been very involved with the USAAC and of course the BSS. Both the USAAC and the BSS are ready to proceed without the constant attention of Tbar :)

I'm really proud of the BSS, really proud. I can't say how honored I am to have you guys .. all of you as squad mates.

I am stepping down as the CO of the BSS and turning the reines over to JoKeR.

I have the utmost respect and confidence with JoKeRs abilites .. as I'm sure you all do as well.. He will make a #1 Fine CO for the BSS :)

Wing Leaders .. be advised JoKeR will need you co-operation, assitance and guidence. Please do your part for me..

Squad Members .. don't be to sad about a change of the guard, my stepping down will not mean I won't be at matches or available .. or a stanger to the BSS. I have every intention of being a pilot for the BSS untill such time as I start up my next new squad for AA :) Yes, a new squad.

For years I flew as a pilot and just 'used' the system. Other folks did all the work and I did all the play. I never realized what went into keeping this game open, available and free to all. Sometimes last year I wanted to 'give something back' .. so I started the BSS with AirBoss and myself as the only pilots. I found 4 rookies .. signed them up with no website, etc .. just needed 6 pilots to be 'squad legal' :) Well.. you guys know the rest of that story :)

I started the USAAC so that USA pilots would have a place to call home as well as a place for US squads to have a 'focal point" and a place to do business .. and in particulare a place where the US Squads could governen themself. I was told many times "good luck" it will never happen.. and so forth. I was also told "good luck" on starting up the BSS. If one just 'does it'.. and does not wait for some 'committe' to decide on things .. one can get a lot accomplised. The BSS and the USAAC were a dream of mine that I have seen developed into reality .. and a viable and respected organization within the AA Communities.

Now I want to 'raise the bar' so to speak for all AA Pilots to measure up to. I really love the game .. and really do want a happy and nice play environment. My goal is to start a new squad where the members that join it .. will take an oath of 'honor'.. they will all be "Honor Pilots". Honor pilots abide by all the rules .. and then some. More on this sometime in the future. I don't expect to be able to start up my new squad for at least 3 months as it will take some time to clear my desk of 'to do items' that have been piling up for way to long :) The new squad is planned to be named the Unitied States Air Angels (USAA).

BSS is a Tides of War sponsored and owned Battle Group. You guys are part of something much bigger than just a 'squad', your also a part of Tides of War. Tides of War is my first love ... and my concept of a place for 'guys' to hang out who are 'good guys' that just love to have fun playing on-line games. Tides is a place where guys come back years later to look up old friends .. and find out what folks are doing these days from .. personal life .. to game play. One day you may stop playing games on your computer .. for any given number of reasons .. the sometime in the future might decide to start playing again .. well.. start your venture by remembering Tides of War and the BSS and come right back to www.tidesofwar.net and look around :) You will find old friends :)

Thank you for your confidence in me. I'm not sure how good a Commanding Officer I will be, but I assure you I will do my best to make sure the I will do what I think is in the best interest of the squad to uphold its good name.

As requested, As my first order of business as CO, I have re-assigned you to be one of our tactical officers (TO) along with Air Boss.

The tactical officer has the duty of leading our team in my stead, if I am not able to be at a match. Working close with wing leaders to help give them guidance during games. We are just to young of a squad to be out there with out you guys giving us your input in matches.

Top_Gun, thank you for your kind response I will do everything I can to be a good leader for you and the rest of the squad.

Congrats JoKeR. It looks like you'll be a great C/O because you have already done so much as PO and XO. Just another step up the rung.

P.S.

Will that new squad also be on ToW? Maybe we could have our own ToW 2squad instead of ripping the BSS apart with these wing matches.
