Sure, I can go look up the tags and who they belong to, but I don't want to have to remember who is who, or look at a list. I think it's much more fun if for example I am chasing FD_Marine and he accidentally crashes. We would both get a good giggle out of it because we know each other. But If I were flying as EV_* and him as FD_* and neither of us remembered who is who, that fun moment is lost.

I just think tag tactics are costing us some of the fun of the game. If no one uses "alias" tags, then no one has an advantage. Right?

TKFM is at the top of the heap now and they don't fly alias tags. Maybe we could all learn something from them.

On not flying all available pilots, I still think this is pure BS. I have read nothing here that comes close to changing my mind. We join squads to play in matches, not sit in matches. If you want to sit, become a Ref.

There are still a lot of people that haven't posted yet. Come on fellas, I want to read your opinion too.

Which means attacking planes which have just taken off, within AA or in middle of the runway because the aa-guns are rather inefficient in this sector. More and more squads adapting to this rude tactic.

I think they really knew what they were talking about. Such a pinning-style should be forbidden by rules. It is frustrating and also takes alot of fun away. If I would be a rook, I?d quit playing at the latest after the 2nd pin in such a way.

Oh yes, it takes some skill to do such a pin, I know. But runwaying takes also some skill and skill does not justify everything. And pls don?t come up with the usual ?It?s war and war justifies everything?- blahblahblah.

It?s not war. It?s our leisure activity in a sporting way.

Anyone remember EVIL_Nodski? He wasn't around all that long, but it seemed he played every waking moment he had. We had a friendly against... ok, against a nameless squad . We got pinned, and pinned, and pinned. That was the last time I every saw EVIL_Nodski. He quit right then and there. Pinning is part of the game, but the pinning CO needs to know when to say enough is enough.

Hi gang just reading through all the posts here.

This post i am leaving with the tone of respect and understanding of all the views.

First my Apologies to Warships pilots who showed and didn't fly because of MY decision to sit USHA pilots in the match and only fly 6. It wasn't the purpose of my decision to take a direct slap at any WS pilots. I hope that this post will shed a little understanding as to what happened in my view. My decision was to sit all pilots except 6 as they where inexperienced and we where up against a superior team of Warships. I took this stand as the main object of the league is to win and also keep points down for the opponent. I also flew same amount of pilots in second half. No gamesmanship in that regard, just 6 of our better pilots to fly against WS for both halves. Again my apologies for those who showed and had to sit. But I felt it was within the present set of rules.

If the rules change then as always USHA respects those rules and decisions.

But it is my firm belief that I made the right decision for my team given the circumstances.

I do understand the spirit of sportsmanship and I am sure that most pilots recognize that I am not unsportsmanlike in this game.

I would welcome friendly matches with all squads with as many pilots that would like to show to fly for fun, sportsmanship and comradery.

Again I respect the opposing views and I am listening to the different views and forming some new opinions from others views. I also am learning a little history of past events and some things that have happened in the past. Seems there is some bad blood here and there. But I guess i will learn more of that as time goes on too.

Are you kidding me? no pinning? thats is part of the tactic of the game and always will be, thats what makes or breaks the score. If your down points thats how you make it back. If your getting your ars kicked in a pin you need to come together to get out of it, thats what makes a team...guys don't get soft while trying to win in a MATCH....this is what this games about, if you don't like to be pinned then don't put yourselves in that situation. You would be taking a big part of the game away if this rule is in effect. It takes skill and a ton of effort to get even a 1/2 way decent pin in place...when your on a time clock.....now in a friendly Temper I can understand, I mean geesh its only a friendly but when its the 2 squad, 4 squad, snl or any type of leage based event then anything goes. As Noodles said, how would you even do this? When you start taking away from the freedom of the game like where you can and can't fly and what you can and can't do, all your going to get is pilots leaving and playing something els.

The tag issue is you have to have atleast your reg tag in there so people know who you are as we do

[-Terror-]_FURY, when all you bastages shoot me you know who I am but by just looking at me all you see is [-Terror-]. Thats the way it should be so no hunting is involved, atleast my name is still there so you atleast know whome your shooting at when you hit me as all TS members have there name there not just a letter or # as someone stated above....frankly I could care less what name or letter or #'s anyones flying under as it is match...but for the refs sake I can see if they want to talk with the CO of a squad noone knows who it is ) That is the only problem I see there. You have to admit, that is a great tactic in any match cuz there are some bad blood out there as we all know and I really don't like being hunted in a match ;p (tulla, sandamn, tzu, ect..ect..ect... they wuv me) they like my 6 anyway.

1. Tags stay the same.

2. You fly the same # of pilots in the 1st round as the second round.

3. You pin the chit out of them cuz you can, and beat them into the ground cuz your just that good!!!

(Guy's, its hard to hold a pin anyway on any squad, aa shooting the planes, get over it!)

4. If you drop a guy (lost connection) then if you have one standing (sitting by) he/she can join immediately, this is why team speak is so important, the ref should be informed asap from the CO.

5. When you start trying to enforce rules like these (nit-picking) the game will go south, there are to many other games out there for people to play, lets try to remember this isn't 1.5 where there is 100 peeps in a room and you have to wait to get in. This is a small community of people that some don't even read these forums and then you guys are going to try and change things around? Noone complained or said anything 1 year ago or so when we changed our tags and others did the same, so why now? Cuz you don't like the fact who your shooing in a match? for what 1 1/2 hours you want to know who your shooting? Who cares, I don't what you to know who I am, I feel better flying under a tag where NO ONE can see who I am until they kill me. Thats how most feel, keep it a match of skill and honor and tactic, not some slumber feking party we are going to on a Sat or Sun night!

Of corse all 'current' rules need to be played out .. correct me if I'm wrong, but we are addressing 'Future' League Rules .. i.e. 'discussion'. What happened in the past, is for reference . .. to improve upon the future.

1) I favor increasing the minimun number of pilots that a squad can fly to 8.. even 10 for future rule consideration.

Squads that can't muster up 6 to 8 pilots would be encoured to 'recruit'. Recruits would be encouraged to show up for matches because they would more likely to have an opportunity to be called upon. I was once in a super squad, and each week I would show up .. and sit. Each week.. show up and sit. Finally I realized they didn't need me and I stopped showing up for matches.

Some squads are so good they could fly 6 pilots against 8 or 10 and still win.

2) The highest number of pilots in the first half .. is what the 2nd half should allow for either team. If a team looses a member during the first half or during the break .. so be it, the other team can still fly the number set from the first half.

I know this is just a 'game', but it is a 'war game' .. and all things in war are NOT equal. Being unbalanced at times gives increased challenge and adds intensity and would certainly enourage squads to be ready to the maximum.

3) Start time. A delay more than 5 minutes .. is 5 minutes to long. These events should start on time .. period.

Squad should be disiplined to meet and work things out 30 minutes BEFORE the match starts, be in the match room on time .. and 'scramble' on time. Our Ref's do a great job, they should not have to ref a match 30-45 minutes longer because of 'squad delays'.

I have seen times when a ref was MIA. This type of delay can't be helped. Rooms not ready, is a delay that can't be blamed on a squad.

I'm in favor of empowering the Refs with rules that the match starts at 5 minutes after or sooner with the number of max pilots allowed .. and not allowing delays for any reason.

More and more pilots show up at the last minute because they KNOW it won't start on time. If we make sure the match starts on time .. the CO's will make sure of the rest. Affirmative.

4) Tags.

So long as the 'tag-name' is on the CLP, its ok with me. Flying an alias that is NOT on the CLP squad list is grounds for a forfit IMHO. Frankly I don't care if they fly a number or not. What I do care about is that the Ref is informed prior to the match start of each half WHO THE VOICE of the squad is .. i.e. the leader.

'Target' me all you like, frankly it gives my other pilots an opportunity.... besides, I know how to run and keep you tied up chasing me

It is an advantage. I'm sorry, but for example, if your playings..............Tigers. I will personally take out G7 first. Not because i hate/target him first, because i know hes more of a threat (no trying to hurt any other tigers feelings =D)

So if ALL Ts names are hidden in mid air, it may say on log we've hit Terror Fury, but saying that on TS, means nothing, as distinguishing who Fury was is impossible. I find that bull.

The only way forward, ALL do it which i hope is not the case, or NONE do it.

@Tbar. WS have suffered so badly within the last year for pilots. We've lost a few to being busy, a few to real life issues and sadly Bolt, which speaks for itself. We've lost about 4-5 core regulars, and to be a bit honest, surprised we're doing so well in the 2xsquad considering. We have recruited only one rookie of late and trained him up. We use to take onboard quite a few, but these days as now i'm getting older, my time is getting more limited. Meaning im find less time to train the rookies. So its not really doable for WS to take onboard that many rookies currently due to lack of time.

Speak to gelp couple weeks ago, i find TKFM the luckiest squad so far, they've not had any core regulars leave due to AA or real life issues, hence they've remained the strongest.

The limit of 6 is still needed, we always encourage during friendlies if other teams have more then us for them to fly, but the league is a league, unfair if you only cater to the squads who have excess pilots, i mean sometimes we could even get 8, we had 9 show up to USHA game which was a record. Last 2 games we had 4 at 6:35, then 5 just before the start, and against Rb, the 6th showed up half way through the first half, against thorn, our 6th obviously took the wrong bus =D

I have reffed several matches and here is my opinion.

1. Tags, Well I really do not care what tags anyone is flying durning a match. But what I do care about is that these tags are registered/listed in the participants list. If you are flying different nics in matches then make sure your nic is listed there BEFORE the match starts.

My normal way of preparing to Ref a match is I print out a list of the two squads that are flying so I will know who is who. I do this just prior to entering the room.

2. Start on Time, This too is sometimes a real issue, I have had games delayed for 15 minutes due to tags not registered, waiting on more people, etc.

I know that sometimes things can not be helped, like this past match. The game server was down and had just come up about a half hour before the first match. Problems getting in, I do not have a problem of delaying for a few minutes but more then 5 is too much.

So to all of the squads that will be playing league matches please have your in game tags registered and listed on the particpant list before the match. For I think if your tag is not on my printed list for the match I will be reffing, then you will not be allowed to play.

Pinning the opposing base was always part of the game and always will be. I was merely talking about the hard and mercyless pin, where pilots getting attacked and killed immediately after the wheels of their planes have losened from ground. Do the ropes, close the exits to all cardinal points, do net let them up but for gods sake let them start and gain some speed, so they have at least a fair chance to avoid, if you really need to come down within AA-range to do the kills.

This is what I?m talking about and nothing else. In my point of view it is in the same way unsporting and frustrating as runway-killing is and should be treated the same way, covered by rules.

Fury, did you say you would quit playing if the rules were amended and you had to fly as TS_Fury instead of -[Terror]-Fury in League matches?

Delaying the start of a game has always been a pet peeve of mine. There are some players that are habitually late. There are some that always have to go get their joystick working, Teamspeak working, reboot, pee, change their underwear , etc. I find it very inconsiderate to make everyone wait while that player gets his sh1t together. On the other hand, unforeseen problems do crop up, and it would be a shame to make someone miss the entire match because of that.

The only way forward, ALL do it which i hope is not the case, or NONE do it.
