The captain of KLM U-boat U-45 has been relieved of his duty, as a result of being accused of the unprovoked sinking of the American merchantship SS Samuel Wren, in the Atlantic Ocean west of Ireland. The U-45's captain claims that a League submarine's scope was spotted in the area prior to the sinking and Germany is not responsible for this aggressive attack.
