Periscope- Incoming Torpedo Problem

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but when you using the Periscope is there no warming bell or alarm for incoming Torpedos?

I know in the update/addon we all are waiting for there will be more details given on incoming torpedos. But I have been sunk a few times not knowing I had an inbound torpedo whilst using the Periscope.

Having a sounding bell would be good, or a crewmen verbally informing you of it. The latter would be better i think.

I've already rambled on about crewmen voices and how it would increase atmosphere of being onboard a sub or ship in another posting so I won't go on about it.

But here's hoping it will be one of the new features in the addon-

I get a ringer when I have an incoming torpedo.

What version you have?

I have the Australian/New Zealand version- the distributor being Auran.

I read a thread saying (if my memory serves me correctly) that the Uk version has a sub with a bi-plane flying overhead and the USA version has a ship instead of a sub or something. But on the cover of my game it has a Uboat with bomber releasing a bomb upon it.

I'm guessing I have the same version as the USA release.

However in regard to my not hearing any warning, might be because the fact i have high-frequency hearing loss. I tend to hear bass sounds better than treble, so I hear the engine noises loud and clear and also the alert sound when u get radio message. Perhaps there is a higher-pitch warning sound when an incoming torpedo??

Most games don't have anything for those with hard of hearing ppl, although some have subtitles in cinematic scenes which is great. I can hear most of the sounds in the game- but the engine sound does tend to be over top of everything else.

I have also turned the music down to zero too.

So what i have to do is take periscope down and check all is okay every few minutes when hunting.

Perhaps there will be some new up coming sounds.

I have the UK version and i get the torp alarm when at perescope depth

The "Auran" site, had a 13mb patch (labeled as a small feature patch), which i've already downloaded. Adds some new effects and sounds that the US version has, including random missions.

There is a 99mb patch you can download for the Uk version.

Will i need to download this? or will I the upcoming addon/patch

bring everything up-to-date anyway?

Nah, the US cover would be appropriate for some arcade shooter, not a strategy game IMHO.

Hi m8 Australian here too

And no I think we only got the 13mb patch cos our version was updated as it came out (just guessing here) being a few weeks behind the US and UK versions. And if not then why such a big difference in patch size notify:

I am sure I have heard the alarm for IC torps with my scope up.
