Would anyone be interested in having 1 night a week for a couple hrs flying 3 man pairs, it would be set up in a non-scoring room, so make a tag like Spoiler 1, Spoiler 2, Spoiler 3 vs red 1, red 2, red 3 vs bread 1, bread 2, etc..... so that there isn't any confusion of who is on what team. Say we have 6 rounds for ten minutes? Start/Engage 8k, no landing, crash is a kill, 4 square boundry, fly any plane, throw more rules in as we go....It's a great winging and communication skills practice also...
Just an idea, I'd love to have 99 targets again like years ago..
BTW: That event Kid set up in teams last week was the bomb, we had the 1.5 map and u could fly any plane from any nation. Would it be hard to have a permanent room like that set up? or If not all like it maybe it appears at 6 EST till 10 EST.

I see a couple of minor problems .. otherwise more work on this and rules and I think you might have a fun event here. This is what a community is all about folks ......
Minor Problem:
> Pilots would need a lot of co-ordination on making matching tags don't you think? This would be the biggest problem getting everyone started with TAG's that could be understood? This is where I see a big delay in start time.
> Permanent Room can be done. At first no, but as it was developed I could see a permanent room with starting and closing time each day so its not listed all day long.
>How would you arrange the 'teaming' ? If I come into play as a solo newbie, how would I get teamed up onto a 3 man team? Does this require a sign up and team name designation in advance? What if only 10 pilots were present, would you have 3 camps of ONE 3man team and 1 sitting, or two teams of 3 on each of 2 camp with 1 sitting?
Suggestions:
> ADD a safty zone on the Home Base so pilots have an attack free zone to 'wing up'. Anything outside the Base Area is a killing zone. You cannot attack enemy in home base area grid. Altitude might have to be addressed in the safety zone
> This thru how you would organize and promote this.
> Consider we have Ladder software and Tournament software and a sign up system to be implemented one of these days ( we need that webmaster ). Would this game lend itself better to laddy and tournament style of play?
> If possible, always try and leave an ez way for New Pilots to join in. They are bashful and don't know all the in's and out so try and make an ez way for them to join in. We really need to try and keep new pilots involved and feel like immediate members of the community... not just visitors and noobs.
Comment:
Fun Events are designed so that no planning is needed on the pilots side. All they need to do is show up and fly. This event sounds to me like its really a 'tournament' type of setup. We would have those tools for you in near future but not right now. League Events are designed for 'squads' and require squad registration and pilot registration.
Good Input and it sounds like it could be really fun. If you are serious about this suggestion, please do a little more work on it. You might even consider joining the "Fun Event Team" to further promote your idea.
It will be interesting to see other intput on this, thanks for putting this idea forward.

I dont think 3 guys making a tag that are somewhat alike is so tuff m8, most are on teamspeak now days and if they aren't they should be. I was thinking about 10 minute rounds so there won't be any need for a safe zone. If you aren't in the air you're losing points
The less rules the better, just a few like, at start or 1st engagement is at 8k then no alt limit, crash is a death, 5 x 5 sq boundry, 5-6 ten minute bashes with 2 minute breaks....... Have it as informal as possible, no need for any ladders....stats.....judges...paperwork.....It would be a blast to have 5 sets of 3 going at it in a FFA setting, I know the locks will get all messed up but you have to deal with it and communicate with your teamm8's. Lets have a test 3 on 3 on 3 and see how much fun we have T, get 2 TOW, I'll get 2 FD, and hopefully we can get another 3 to help with a test
Salute!
Salute!
Tzu,
Maybe I got the wrong idea or impression.. Since you posted in the Fun Event area I was thinking this was a proposal for a constant ..
ToW meets on Monday Nights at 9PM for practice. We often have a Live Fire Practice with AWM .. so you can join in and make this a 3x3x3 ?
Be on ToW Team Speak Monday night 9 PM.

CU there Tbar...
Yo Tbar, I'll see you on teamspeak before 9, I have 1 set of 3 to go
Lets make a date .. every monday night 8PM .. we have to do events at 9PM
You have a deal Tbar!! I'll sort out the USAAC ts and meet you all there Monday at 7:45ish......
Sky and I had a blast with you guys last night, it was great getting to fly and talk with Joker, Jonny, TopGun & Hotshot. Salute!!

yes, it was fun and sorry I was late
What I feel is that you have a good idea here that somehow we need to work into a normal USAAC type of fun time. Not sure how to do this at this date as its not really a 'fun event' for all.. but 3x3, 4x4, etc. True anyone can team up so it is open to all, but not that just anyone can jump in. My brain is working on this because I think a lot of other pilots would enjoy this type of thing. Right now the way we are addressing this is simply something that ToW:BSS and FD is doing on a 'schedule'.
To all the rest of you reading through here .. ToW:BSS is using this 3x3 situation for 'training'. Sure FD kicks our butt .. but they teach us at the same time. Great bunch of Guys .. and we have become more of 'friends' via these types of activities. If you would like to participate in some sort of 3x3, 2x2 etc .. then get involved and lets see what we can do to get some type of activity like this going.
Fun Events has a lot going right now, but those events are on a schedule. It would be nice to have something .. some type of 'system' where all pilots know they can team up and challenge some other 'team or group'. These teams don't need to be squad oriented. Any group of pilots that like flying together can just form up an informal team .. and find another like group to have this type of fun with.
Example: A little known group called OTG .. over the hill gang. They just form up and going flying .. so why not OTG do some 3x3 etc with other informal groups?
I think I have some tools installed that can take this type of fun time to another level if .. there are parties interested and can follow up on same. A coordinator of sorts is needed to show others 'how to" .. I can give you 'tools' to work with they may work out well for this sort of thing.
OK.. enough 'ramble' from me. I am thinking on this Tzu, you got a good idea here, now how to get others involved and work this type of 'fun time' into a normal offering at USAAC.

As for my self, I find 9pm Eastern time to have events thru the week too late. By time the event ends, its going on 11:00pm Eastern time. And plus that pretty much leaves most UK and GE players out in the cold. Which would be 1:00AM their time before the event starts. And as for 3 vs 3 event, I never tried it. I am more into flying team events.
