Retrospect And Where I Fit In The Grand Scheme Of Things

As I read these forums, and I have been for the past few months, I feel a pang of sorrow and shame for the way that DA has gone out. I understand that no guild lives forever but I would prefer it to have been on more pleasent grounds.

Da was founded by Bratac last summer, and one of his main recruiters was lionknight. This guy recruited me into DA when I was level 9 and running out of mulgore for the first time, along with my friend that I made then, called shadow (many alts). At this time the game was new and the server was too, there where no epics, and half as many instances as there are now. There was only mc as raid, no BWl etc. Barely any 60ies. Bratac himself was not even 40 I don't think. He had rerolled from an alliance hunter reaching level 47, when he and his brother wigdar, both deleted their chars. Wig was a pala. The guild expanded and many people came to join. None left. They enjoyed the social atmosphere of DA alot and the helpful, free trade, good nature found therein. The guild remained small but very helpful. We had a few notable people at the time, the ones that have stayed for a long time, and in time these ppl became officers myself included.

As I leveled I met many people who have came and went, shadow, lionknight, ecotabo, diona to name a few. Each of these persons where outstanding ppl and I was proud to be in the same guild as such selfless peeps. Later on in the game I met lady, zerk, DA, serga, scuzz, merken and thes and many more. After that where people that came in when we had leveled tizzi, grim, diona, lystani, unseen. Some left when we thought they wouldnt, but it is reasonable to see why, since we hadn't a very good raiding thing going on.

Before xmas I talked to a druid from FI in order to make an alliance. Guilds arnt dictated by game mechanics and I thought this would be rather cool, and benefical since we both had trouble getting grps. Eventually it turned into a possible raid grp with potential. However the grand plan I had in mind did not come to pass, and the people that we used to fill the gaps, where idiots most of the time that never stayed for very long in either guild. People where generally undergeared and not specd pve friendly had no commitment and took no responsibility. At this point of frustation and boredom, I rerolled for the first time. I rolled a priest on chrommagus, pvp server, got to 38. In general the populaton there needs a dummy in their mouths. So I came back and played for a few more months. I rolled Arfea eventually, a fury warrior, as I love warriors, and got to 60 raided mc and zg some. Whilst RP is loads of fun, the guild I was in was unstable, many people kept quitting the game entierly. So I rolled a mage, which you may not know about. Level 60 on kilrogg, undead. Raided zg some. Whilst mage is immensily fun, I am better at getting into fights than getting out of them. I became a vagrent and rerolled on several different servers. eventually I decided to move tre to moonglade, where I could RP and find a new community. However black and tizzi convinced me to stay. Once I moved I could never come back to thunderhorn.

In all these times I have fond memories that maybe some of you will rmember

I gave deathawaits a pearl handedled dagger. While at the time it was useless for locks, neither of us understood this and DA was over the moon with a green in his hand

I found deathstare in hillsbrad getting owned by the peasents. He was ususing a vendor 2 h axe and bits of mail and leather that was of poor quality. I made him green iron set and a jade blade bought him a shield give him a few pointers and let him loose.

Diona used to be broke alot, and so I bought her some gear

We ninjaed scuzz in hillsbrad :P

Lady was ninjaed in brd :P

Gorgia joined the guild cus he liked me tanking for him

Lystani liked me loads after i ran her through RFC cus she said I was the first person to help her

I had great fun a 2 am in the barrens with ruatek and sidon, messing aroudn with the allys and making fun of them when they logged their horde alts to tell us how lame we were

Ugg helped everyone in the guild alot, gave away epics and helped me SOO much with my armoursmithing

So so much more

In my time in DA I have met some totally selfless people, who give you the shirt off their back if you ask them for it. Rotten gave scuzz the 45g he needed for his mount wordlessly after he complained hed never get the money, and in turn scuzz helped me with mine. ugg paid for HALF of it.Lately I don't know where the hate is coming from. But so many of the original people have left that its not the same guild.

In all the servers and in all the guilds I have been in however, DA was by far the best communtity one can expect from this game. I am honoured to have been a part in its creation, and griefed that it has fallen so hard. Good luck to you all, in all your endevours Death Angel's, may the wind be at your back.

Heya :) when I read the topic name i thought 'argh not another flaming topic' but once i read the whole thing, I understood and it was very touching :)

we've all got fond memories of that guild, it was a lovlely thing to be in :D I remember Ressaven inviting me to DA at level 7 or summat (still got her on my MSN), wondering through Tirisfal! and ofc I did about ever single quest in Silverpine with Diona, since we were the same level at the time (ofc by the time i hit 25 she was easily 60 xD)..

ah, good times... good times..

Haha, can't believe you still remember that.

DA was great for the time being, now many ex-members are in my guild (well actually the partner guild, I'm in Plague, the non-raiding guild). In case anyone is wondering, what I'm doing: I canceled my subscription, since WoW has become a bit boring for me and I don't have the time or motivation to raid, maybe I'll start playing again when the expansion comes out.

Greetz and all the best to you,

Death

Nice to see my old mentor posting again.

Ill never forget how much you did for me turth.

Teaching me how to tank, how to lead a 5 man group, wat armour to pick etc you made me into the killing machine i am today.

Never forget the constant pushing you gave me, the oppertunitys to test my tanking skills, teaching and guiding me every step through my ladder to lvl 60.

Without you i would simply be 'another warrior'

The armour you made me, the stuff you taught me and the places you took me helped me progress into the orc i am today.

I stil hold that same respect for you even tho u have gone to the darkside and play your drood most of the time on th now.

Shame things had to have gone this way but gotta move on, leartn alot in the past couple of months and will look over my time in da as amazing and fun..

cheers Grim

Vhaar here

i'm not one of the first DA's

i was not one of much importance in DA

i did by bit of help in DA, but i reckon i could have did more

Still, it was a GREAT time for me, and i will never forget the days while i was in.

that is why i don't want to lose track of all the people that were toghether for a long time.

i'm having great fun in FI, and now that our raids are going well, im finnaly getting to play in the hardest and challenging parts of WOW, and the rewards are also nice :)

But i would like SiN to join us in a near future, it's hard to leave so many connections behind. Don't know how everyone feels about this, but i think it would be nice.

i'm not angry with anyone or have resent feeling, it was a strange way to end DA, but i not the to give any thoughts on that. our leaders did what they had to do, and what they thought was better for everyone.

i only hope we will have the same amount of interaction in the future :)

LETS ALL HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THIS GAME.

Vhaar out

Well there are 18 toons stil in SiN (most of which are mine and Tizzi's) although only Demonicdude has his mains in SiN. He only ever does PvP and 5mans so if you ever need a lock or Rogue i'm sure he'll enjoy a /w. however i also have an up and coming Mage (currently lvl 46) which i plan to keep in SiN again to do PvP and do 5mans/BRS maybe the occasional raid.

and don't forget Ovidius, my level 23 shammy alt. He is still in SiN. To be honest though I have considered moving it to FI or some other guild with more lowbies. SiN is not really the easiest lowbie guild atm.

Raiding with copyright is fun, but copy is not really a guild in sense DA was. It seems that more or less my 'true guild' is now called bradpittfanclub and i am kind of stunned by that... Image
