Sub Tactics?

#1
It was on USN Surface Mission 5 that it happened. I had taken out two subs already by depth charge and was going for the third. I dropped charges in the water and missed, so I decided to turn around and make another pass, as I began to turn the enemy sub quickly popped up and launched one torpedo then quickly went under again. The torpedo was launched from about 50 meters behind me and promptly hit me. Thinking this was a one time thing I foolishly made another pass. He quickly showed himself again launching three more torpedos at me and quickly submerging. Not being able to turn fast enough two of them hit me and sank my boat.

I was just wondering if anyone has seen the enemy subs use this tactic. I've already been through the German surface campaign and have not seen any subs do this.

I've had that tactic used against me a few times. Usually if there's one pesky tin can down there waiting to be flattened by my mighty 'vette and I'm out of DC's.

It's at that point you have to wait for the bottom dweller to surface and show his sneaky hide on the surface so you end up playing the circling game, trying to stay out of range of the tubes. Once I'd guessed that he's out of stern tubes - but I guessed the wrong end - and paid for it. bash:
