Obviously we need to advertise SNATF in order to get the number of pilots we need weekly in order for this event to become popular and sucessfull. We need other things as well .. but advertising and promotion is the topic here...

What I thought we might do is start putting some thoughts and idea's here where we can pick the good one's out and impliment them.

first thing I did was start up http://snatf.tidesofwar.net/admin/ here you will find a "post list". I didn't really have a good name for this .. just a good idea of keeping a list of 'where' to advertise. We need to add to this list as we find acceptable and agreeable squads and IL2 sites.

What we need to address for 'advertising' is the: Who .. What .. When... Where and Why.

1) "Why" we take first because it obvious as to the answer .. ie expose SNATF to as many as possible in the most efficient manner.

2) Who - Who should do this advertising is something Bolter needs to address and find staff to do same .. or he will have to do this himself also. I think Bolter can find help for this ez if he has the 'Breifing' ready .. and a helpfull list of places to visit. The "post-list' in "admin" helps in this area as it gives the party and streight forward head up as to where to post.

3) When - Bolter needs to come up with the 'when'. I feel no later that Wed is best, however that is a SNATF call.

4) What - You have been posting nearly the entire Breif. I think 'maybe' it would be better to simply post three things in short:

A) SNATF and what it is

8-) Really short title and breif

C) url for SNATF for full breif, info, and sign up.

5) Where - Post your advertising on any site that concentrates on IL2 and Pacific Fighters to start with. The "post list" give a party a good starting point, ensures consistancy and in the event a squad does NOT want us to post on their site .. removal from the list helps make sure this is not violated.

I am making a followup post as to a 'standard' or 'template' for advertising might be.

SNATF is a weekly event that emulates historical air battles, full switch and follows FISC rules. SNATF server is hosted by www.tidesofwar.net and is listed on Hyperlobby at game time. Every Sat Night.

This weeks Mission/Event:

SNATF XX: Kenney's Kids - The Battle of The Bismarck Sea

"The Battle of The Bismarck Sea" was a crucial turning point in Japan's plans to expand its holdings in the Pacific southward toward and into Australia. It was a battle of air power, fought by dozens of airplanes at a time, rather than the hundreds that flew on massed missions against the Germans over Europe.

A thought .. that might be considered is to have a 'standard' user/pw for all these forums where any person can perform this task .. use the same user/pw on each forum/site posting and thus have a standard avatar, mailing address and signature line. This of course is a SNATF call ...

user: Snatf_1

pw: 05snatf_OPS

The above suggested user/pw is only a suggestion. In this case the combination of numbers and letters (upper and lower case) will meet the requirments of most boards so we can have one consistant user/pw

I am glad you take the time to think of all this stuff. We do need to advertise more than what is already done now. As I post the briefing I make a smaller version as you had suggested and post it on the regularly participating squadron's message boards.

A few times Pilgrim has done this for me but it's usually my thing. I don't mind the work as it's easy to copy and paste parts of the briefing. What would help is more squadrons to visit the message boards of. I visit and post on 9 different squadrons and only one or two actaully come on in with us. I have not posted on the ubi forums though I should. I will be doing so next week. We have two more places to post to now also. Flooding the chat window on the hyper lobby might work... hahahah!

TAM .. is was a 'thought' .. for discussion .. not an order to "jump to it" :)

Also .. this was a thought directed at SNATF STAFF .. ie .. Mr Bloter :) You and I are Tides Staff that does some work for STATF, so we are 'temp' staff of SNATF but our first orbligations are to Tides of War.

Guys... don't think I'm "chewing' on anyone here, as I'm not, and I don't call the shots for SNATF .. As ToW Staff, I feel, we have already over stepped our bounds a long way taking control of SNATF in certain areas while Bolter and Staff get familiar with the way we have set things up for them. Eventually we as Tides Staff have to be 'weened' from SNATF as the 'majority' and most 'important' members of SNATF STAFF.

TAM, we are spreading ourself so thin.. and doing so much for SNATF it is affecting other areas that need our attention as well .. not to mention taking any game time we have.

Using an email address of Tow Air Marshal, I feel, is sending the wrong signals and won't get Tides Staff weened away as the primary support source for staff. Snatf needs to stand on it's own. How far you go Gosline with support and help is of course your business and not mine. Give them all the personal support they need .. I. myself just cannot continue with SNATF as my primary focus. I was suggesting this "generic login" to SNATF .. lol, not to Tides Staff to fill in the gap :)

OK.. so both of you feel the 'table' of contact is somewhat a good idea .. so I'll leave that table for Bolter to work with .. add on .. etc. It is a good starting point for anyone that must do this on a weekly basis as it also serves has a check list .. so please feel free to 'modifiy' that page/table as needed....

The topic is advertising .. so I'll return here when I have more thoughts or possible suggestions that might help with this task.
