Enigma-mission One Is Rubbish

Re; Enigma
Misson one in the campaign with the corvette. You hunt the sub, it surfaces, you shoot it ten times with your deck gun, you depth charge it, it surfaces, you ram it most obviously sveral times, and yet the SUB sinks YOU with ONE torpedo!. If this company thinks this is well reaearched and written then i hate to think what they think is badly written.

Accuracy:nil points. They need to try much harder-such a shame this bit is so very poor.!
Is this a demo, "Gigex" version or retail, patrol or campaign?

That must be one of a kind.

Well first of you cant kill a sub with only 10 deckgun shells, it takes some more. when you depth charge it, are you sure you hit it ?

When you ram it, it 'should' sink.

If it sinks you with one torpedo it must have had a luckyshot, cause it takes 2 (usually).

Does it happen every time you try or just this one time, and you just felt like flaming about it?

Regarding your totally lack of knowledge of how much this game has been researched, I can only say, SHAME ON YOU!

Ofcourse the amount of deckgun shells a SUB takes is not 100% accurate, its called 'game balance' do you think anyone would command subs of they would sink after being hit 5 times?
My advice. Stop giving your gunners a triple ration of rum!
When I have rammed when of the sneaky beggars it has only taken one hit at several knots.

Sure you didn't have rubber tires hanging over the side when you rammed?

Try to avoid being dead astern or bow on to avoid being torpedoed when they surface.

:)

Seriously, never had that kind of problem. That first one shows this is a game of patience sometimes, these naval games aren't like FPS.

This is a great game. Trust me.
You may want to play the game to some extent before you judge its
historical accuracy or gameplay realism.  If you look at the extensive posts

here over three months or so, including the "TIPS AND TACTICS" section,

you will get a reality check on ANY mission, and also realize the game is

more comprehensive than you think.  Possibly withholding final judgement

until you have the more experience thru gameplay?

You caught him on the surface!?!
Youre lucky,  I have spent ages buzzing back and forwards dropping dustbins-o-death into the bit of water I hope his is going to bimble through to little or no avail. It was a major victory when I caught him. The little telex informing you the you sunk him hardly seems adequate praise.

I would suggest repeating the mission and verifying your previous experience.

BTW Ramming is a pretty surefire way of sinking a sub, your bow is so re-inforced to take the pounding of the North Atlantic that steel plate at 14 knots is like putty.
If he shot you AFTER you rammed him, you probably only had a little bit of hull integrity left, depending on how fast you hit him. That would be why he sank you in one shot. The corvette has what, a 3" gun? It's going to take a while to damage him enough for him to sink. Also, just because you dropped charges over his position, doesn't mean you hit him. I can easily crash dive at point blank range and be under the AI ship's depth charge spread. Heck, I go to external view to watch them explode way above me.
Of course, then there's always that one corvette captain that really knows his stuff and brackets the spread all the way down  :P
