Teamspeak

A number of people are already using TeamSpeak to chat in groups and raids. I would like to encourage more people to use this free software.

Tidesofwar.net has its own TeamSpeak2 server. There is a guide to setting up TS on tidesofwar.net here.

You can connect without registering, but registration is free so there's no real reason not too

I'd also like to put out a call for volunteers to be moderators on TeamSpeak. Please apply via PM to me.

I would even go as far as making it a demand for joining the raids as soon as possible. You don't have to have a headset, if you use teamspeak you can listen to all conversation just through your speakers.

Tactics and adjusting them as we fight are so much easier that way. Raidleader can assign targets much faster and with more control over it. Incoming adds can be communicated faster etc. etc.

Offcourse we would have to be strict about the use of the speaking, because we don't want everyone speaking at the same time

good plan. only raidleader (or whoever) uses teamspeak to give commands etc. and only when suprises are noticed by others they can use it... elsewise u'll have idle chatter through it which will be not so good for the raidfocus...

also i suggest to allow a fierce roar, if wished, after downing a (heavy) boss =]

I would really prefer teamspeak not being a demand for entering the raid. Call me old fashioned or conservative, but i like to have my ears listeing to music and game dings etc, and my mouth closed in concentration.. i hate the constant jabber on a teamspeak. Yes i know its easier for strategi, but imo its working so far with out.

I'd love TS but unfortunately I don't think my computer will support it. I do appreciate how useful it can be, but I think making it mandatory isn't necessarily the best idea.

Using team speak will only work if all use it, so if people have problems with it or can't use it then we'd better not use it at all (other then the way some people use it now that is)

Ok so i ignored buxton who said there wasn't any TS software available for my version of OSX and looked myself. Yeah! I found a beta version!

I can't believe how easy it was to download and install. I highly recommend it to anyone. You don't have to talk if you don't want to (I guess bux will find a way to disconnect my microphone ) but being able to listen to what's going on is very useful.

have Teamspeak on pc now and have headset. Will try it..

problem i have is that i have a nice computerroom next to bedroom where GF sleeps if we make it late. And we do that frequently, so i cant talk always.

will see what it bring.

Would love to hear the voices of the palyers i see so far.

the color doesnt say something to me the player is it that makes the color.
