Tankpoints Discussion

Updated and with fire and nature resist builds:

My tankpoints, all values for unbuffed bear:

Normal: 20345 tankpoints (11186ac, 5904 health)

Fire Resist: 9850 fire res tankpoints (205FR)

Nat Resist: 6654 nat res tankpoints (55NR, or 95NR but only ~6100 NRTP)

FWIW, my feeling on tankpoints is that it's a very useful benchmark for assessing survivability with minimal/no healing, but that stamina/health is overrated in the calculation for a multi-healer on tank situation.

I think everyone would agree that the tank must have enough health to avoid being hit by consecutive crits. As long as that threshold (whatever it is) is exceeded, then in any given fight the tank will receive many heals, so the base stamina becomes less relevant and the damage reduction becomes the key to minimising the number of heals needed, and hence maximising how long the healer mana lasts. So personally I'd say a good benchmark, helpful for decisions on gear comparisons, but over-weighted on sta/health.

Asbach.

As a slight aside, I am curious to know how much benefit the different librams/enchants give to warriors (according to the TankPoint calculator). For me:

Enchant
Buxton
Koren

3 def
109
154

8 agi
143
154

125 armour
174
200

1% dodge
304
323

100 health
394
401

Also, can a warrior check for me whether +2% block shield enchant is better than +7sta? Hate to waste 200g+ on recipe if its not!(Edit: Updated for 24K TP)/bux
