Good post and describes situation in DA pretty well too, although we have not lost too many people to big raid guilds yet. DA has been growing lately (ex holy cows joining), but still we need to "solidify" the core group for making raids (even 20 man raids).

ZG raids are working pretty ok, but lots of people (including me) need to get more experience and need to prepare better for raids (mana and health pots, bandages, FIRE RES POTS for the bat boss etc.). Big problem are people wearing inadequate equipment (escpecially last minute raid recruits).

This getting experience is exponentially more important in MC. On last raid there were several first timers and if raid leader has to spend time telling people "to hug" the surgers, it means we are only in the very beginning on MC raiding.

I am not sure if DA can grow much faster. There is the danger of getting too many unfamiliar people and losing the good guild spirit. Accepting new guilds with familiar people to guild coalition might be a good option (although it makes the loot sharing lot harder...dkp system is pretty decent, but with out one "main guild" to control the whole thing it can be pretty chaotic).

Personally i am not leaving DA. I like the guild and people there and if it means not getting to MC end boss, so be it. Besides i have yet to see most of the ZG and i have lot yet to explore even in many of the 5 man instances (especially in the damned lbrs).

End of ranting

P.S. Prepare well for the thursdays ZG. I want to take down the bat boss :)

Same, even though i have been away on another server for a while i came back because i miss the interaction of the guild you are all a fantastic bunch of people and aslong as we can weild 20 men to go to ZG/ruins of AQ (i WILL go there) i dont see the problem for the time being. cause once people know we do that then we may get more 60's intersted in joining up. but no tto many to quick as LS said, you dont want to lose the guild atmosphere, and have it turn into a situation like Ultonis has where because of a few arseholes in the guild all of them are given a bad name. we want DA to be remembered as a good friendly guild, which is why when i see /4 LFG RFC i go and help them out and blast through it in about 10 minutes. so funny downing a boss by looking at him!

/end of gibbering

Hehe nice too hear you still like DA :D

I read the topic on wow-forum and recognised quite some in that story. The people leaving to go raiding, the anger that has caused sometimes, the despair not knowing if we will get to the point i would like to be etc.

However i do feel we are slightly further up the road then what that guy describes. We have had a very strong and dedicated coalition with Feral Instinct in special. I consider them, and a few from bloodblades, friends just as the people from DA. Lately more from BB are starting to join too and i'm sure in time they will be part of my bigger 'family' too.

Already had some really nice talks with Eidokar and Fossegrimen from Night Marauders that makes me confident they will fit in nice too.

Offcourse what everone does is entirely his or her own choice, but i finally made up my mind. Some time ago i posted a topic on coalition forum about people leaving to go to join raiding guilds. On that topic i described my concern about me wanting to leave too to go raid MC sometime, if everyone kept leaving. I now know i won't do that.

Raiding with friends is much more rewarding for me then just tagging along with a raiding guild. I had a talk with Deathawaits some time ago that opened my eyes permanently. He is bored with the game i think. Doesn't play much at all anymore and finds Molten Core runs very boring, which i guess it is when the only thing you do is run with people that know the drill and the most exiting thing you do is pick up another epic. Seems far away for most of us, but epics get boring too once you have mostly epics on you :D

I like the faillures, the wipes and the learning. Makes the times when you finally manage to overcome an obstacle even more rewarding.

Playing with people i like makes me wonder if i will ever get bored in this game. There's so much to do for me that i need at least another year to do them all, and by that time there's even more to do :). There are times i simply chat and have fun with people for most of the evening. There's always someone who can use my help and there's always someone who will help me if i need help. Thats what makes a guild special to me. Thats what makes me log on as much as i can again and again.

Hey :),

True....oh so true.If it werent for the people in the guild ,the game would lose its appeal very fast. All you get then is the mindless single player type feel you get from other games. Its the people that make it so addictive. You want to achieve goals together and make that the purpose of the guild together with the fun that accompanies. The coalition of guilds is what makes us stand out from other guilds,we strive to give our fellow guilders something to look forward to and we keep progressing into the raiding game ourselves wich keeps our own motivation up.

If we keep our heads and dont go all silly on the mc/aq raiding and keep our focus on our guild as well as the coalition we will not go down the path described in that post and have a long future together. The game is still relativly young and there is a lot to look forward to still :P.

agree totally :)

said sumthin similar a long time ago - th thing that keeps ppl logging on and keeps em loyal is/should be th friendships they have established in their guild family - the guild atmosphere/guild spirit keeps ppl happy and wanting to stay

I wont leave for a raid guild either (and yes I've had invites :P) - I like DA, have a grp of ppl here I like, respect and trust and can have fun with - all key factors for me

I will however keep doing ZG runs with Vex on most Sundays - and mebbe peek at Onyxia again - a lot of th 'hardcore' Vex ppl do not attend the ZG runs - its a mix of Vexies and 'outsiders' like me - and I go because I want to see a bit more endgame and know my job better and therefore be more use to guild etc runs :P and ofc to have fun ^^

I did get v peed off recently when I was under fire for going with th Sunday grp - and having my loyalty to guild questioned/criticised - esp as at the time I had spent a load of 'free time' going farming and getting th grtr nature resist potion for OUR guild and farming ingredients - using up all my stock of 60Dream dusts to make enchanted thorium for Grim's armor and trying to make as many lesser mana oil as I can for our healers in raids etc etc - was like a big slap in th face tbh ;-)

The point that stood out in bold for me was the fact that the guy said if all the 60's had stuck around, they'd be in MC. I believe this to be true in DA and we have had at least 10 60's leave and each is a skilled player and a vital class. Not only that but they effectivly cut themselves off from their ingame friends :(. We'd easssssiilllyy have enough dedicated people to do MC within the coalitiion and we'd be running random 12 man groups just to get coins

Well just recently i feel the ZG raids have gotten much better, now we have a small group of players who o each week and take along "new blood" so to speak. this is all experiance for end game and it also doubles as a farming trip. i reckon soon we will be able to start farming zg for maybe the 1st boss and coins from mobs. just need to get that bat bitch down, then onto the tiger boss (for the zulian slicer) once we have a strong 20 man we can do AQ, even though i had to leave early on i hear that as a 1st foray into AQ it went well, about 50% of hp on 1st boss down? and as LS says there are some people that as i play with i find i like to play with them more. its the guild that makes the game a joy to play, and all we need to do now is guild-ninja Mastejo to come to us and we will have a formidable 10 man to raid LBRS/UBRS and maybe farming. its also very late and im tired. i may have been rambling so im sorry if this doesnt make sense. blame the moon. baaaa!
