Uk Or Usa Version Of The Game?

I've downloaded the UK patch 3 times now and 3 times it hasn't worked, something about the archived volume being corrupt and the file specified not being found. notify:

So have I downloaded a corrupt zip file, or am I trying to apply the UK patch to the US version of the game?

I was one of the ones that bought the early beta CD and so got the game free when it came out earlier this year.

The update patch is only for the UK version. If, when you run the game, you see a GMX screen then its a UK (or European) version. If its DreamCatcher or Auran, then you don't need the update.

The other way to tell is, on the preferences screen, the updated version has options for stabilize camera (which was one of the features added between GMX launch & Dreamcatcher/Auran).

Finally, the UK version box has a picture of a sub with a plane going over, whereas the USA version has a battleship with biplanes going over.

Yeah that's what my cover is like so I guess I have the UK version and need to keep downloading that file until it's complete and error free. The thing is, the file size is exactly what it should be huh:

use it to unzip the patch. Im sure your winzip/rar is waay tool old for the new compression methods and thats why yourfile is corrupt.

The Winzip I had was 8.1, but I've installed beta version 9 and will try that Also installed Winrar 3.30 beta 2.

Nah it's not happening. I've downloaded the file about 8 times now from 3 different servers and none of them have worked. The validating bar always stops at 75% and tells me the file is currupt and/or can't be located.

When you talk about the validating bar, you are talking about running the patcher executable, right?

It sounds to me like maybe your original install is somehow corrupt.

Back up your Program Files/GMX/Enigma/ folder, do an uninstall then reinstall of the game from CD. Then try applying the patch.

Yeah that did it, thanks Buxton. It turns out that the file libIGCore.dll that comes with the patch is different from the one installed from the CD. Guess I shouldn't have extracted the patch files to my Enigma folder before running the patch exe. :laugh: Dunno why it didn't work the first time then as I ran the patch from my desktop. notify:

Hmmmm I was under the impression that you couldnt extract the zip file ?!?

When applying the the patch it should be installed from a temp location.
