Too bad.

A DVD-ROM just begs to be filled with extras, but a CD-ROM just forces you to cut stuff out.

I'm not saying the chapter will be below par beacuse of it, but knowing it would be on DVD-ROM would be more exciting. ;)

I wonder what the deciding factor is? (Backward compatibility, or cost?)

That's why I mentioned backwards compatibility. But hopefully East can provide some insight. ;)

Perhaps a second special, or limited, edition DVD-ROM could be issued including extras, with the CD-ROM being the "standard" edition?

It's just an idea... :)

Probably because not everyone has a DVD-Rom on their computer.
CDs are gradually being replaced by DVDs. My freind's relative works for a software co.(not sure whitch) and MOST software shipping to countries other than the US is done on DVD. Now would be a good time to invest in a DVD player (they're not that expensive.) Besides, most computers from the last few years include a DVD player and/or burner.

I think putting the game on DVD is a good idea (as Theta Sigma said, a DVD can fit SOOO much more than a DVD( :) ), plus multiple CDs would be a pain.)
