Sub Max Depth Settings...

It appears all of the subs have the same max depths setting despite situation, configuration, etc...true? I took each boat out last night hoping to run a "shakedown" and see what each could do...but it appaears they all get to 200m and then you are at max depth. Am i right in assuming that if i put her to 205, ...thas the end of the ship?I didnt dare. 😳

Maybe a suggestion for the future...id like to have a free float mode. a mode in which its just me and the sea. There can be targets out there, but they should have to be found by cruising. also, the occasional on board emergeny would be nice. having to emergency surface for whatever reason, or having to avoid a catatrophe scenario of some kind at random could be fun. Kind of like MS flight sim does...

The random patrols can be that way sometimes - never know what you are going to get: in fact the SH3 dynamic campaigns work just like our random patrols.

As for sub depths - they each get a roll of the dice when they are created and have different max depths. The max depth also changes as you are damaged. We opted to go for 200m as a common max since most of the US submarines were limited to around 130ft depth max (50m), the Japanese weren't much better. The German subs were the only ones that could really go deep. It would have unbalanced the game to use real depths.
