Moving-map Mission Log With Online Sharing?

My apologies if this has been suggested already.

I imagine that, back in the day, many or most battles, large and small, were reconstructed on a map with ship symbols moved around to better understand the outcome. I'd appreciate a moving map feature as part of the mission log, displaying ship types, replaying ship positions, sinkings, etc.

Then I'd like the map-based mission logs to be easy to share online with other players. This might challenge the developers to improve the AI and create new missions, both of which might also be available for download.

If this doesn't involve much eye candy may be the coding would be minmimal compared to the play value.

May be this could evolve into a subscription service, a sort of turn based multi-player, rather than real time? If it doesn't cost much to create and host may be the subscription price doesn't have to be painfully high.
