Help With Patches.

#1
Hello all, I have tried to download a couple patches and am not sure what I'm doing wrong. I like the idea of having the ship crew repeating my commands with sound instead of text so that is what I'm after. I downloaded 2.1.3A and 2(1).1.3a but I'm guessing they are the same. I don't see in Preferences a setting for turning on voice response.

I downloaded the files to my download file then extracted them to c:\dreamcatcher\enigma .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bad move mate :(

you have to run the EPatch.exe from a temp location.

Here is what you should do:

if you have the zip file still then unzip it to c:\temp

compare the unzipped files to your Enigma dir and delete the matching files from your Enigma dir

run the EPatch.exe from c:\temp

when it is done patching then download the custom voice paks from our download section, follow the install directions

then play enigma :)

Hi Jesper, I got up to downloading the voice pak and hit another snag. I don't see any instructions. Are they in some of the files I download? Where do I expand these files to? C-Programs-Dreamcatcher-Enigma? or the temp file? Hate to sound stupid but I don't see any instructions.

When I try expanding to the game I get a graph that comes up from Enigma Tide and it seems to time out and I get an error message asking if I want to send a report to Microsoft.

Thanks for the help,

Mitch

Since loading the patch the game seems more difficult. I can't even get through USN Sub #1 with out gettin wacked. I tried changing the difficulty setting and realized it may be too difficult to change. So . . Is the game in "difficult" mode when you can read "difficult" on the button; or does the button read "difficult" so you can click on it to select "difficult" ?

Better put, when is the game in EZ play ??

From what I understand, if you click on easy it means both you and your enemy can detect each other much easier. In difficult mode, you both have more realistic reliability of radar. So it really doesn't mean that it's easier to play.

I would like to see some settings to make things easier so you could learn some of your enemy's tactics without being sent to the ocean floor immediately. Like an invinceable setting maybe.

I've also noticed if you keep at it eventually you seem to get some easier scenario's to get you through.

Good luck, I've been stuck on Commander level for quite some time even though I am able to get through most of the levels.
