Ok.. i really need help sinking sub's using depth charges... i just cant seem to get it and its been really annoying me! If anyone has any links or can post any tips/guides on how to use them please do so.
Second of all, i was reading and saw people talking about Battle cruisers etc... do you unlock these as you advance thru your campaign?

You did not say whether you are using the latest patch. If not load the patch. The new patch will make it possible to unlock a battlecruiser when you complete a German or LFN campange. The patch also makes depth charging much easier.

Ah... yeah i did the new patch... Guess its back to work trying to figure out how to properly aim the depth charges to hit the sub.
Is there a way where you can find out how deep the Sub is?

No its all based on guess and if you have a DE try to send torps at the enemy sub to keep it from fireing at you then DC it to the deep

There are some good tips further down in this forum for using depth charges, in terms of speed to use, dropping charges in front of subs, estimating the time it takes the charges to get to depth and what depth subs might at, at different stages in the engaggement.
Mind you, every time I hit one, it feels like luck!

Our technical professor has not yet posted how to ' correctly guess' depths. still busy with torpedo aiming formulae, and streetlamp avoidance systems .

This new patch has made this much easier for me, I have sunk 100% so far of all subs I have come up against with DCs.
How? well you may ask LOL
well I tend to drive right over them after they have submerged for aprox 10 seconds, a full spread is launched at 140 to 160 in front of them, no skill at all I love it
and waam Have not missed one as yet *joys oh joys*
Love this patch hehehe

Player controled subs are generally loathe to drop below periscope depth.
