Yup, the path is embedded on install. you need to copy your player directory to somewhere (desktop...), uninstall Enigma, re-install her then patchup to the installed directory.

This is in regard to the US version:

So what you're saying is that the patch gets unzipped to the game directory overwriting the one file that gets overwritten and then you go to the game directory and double click EPatch.exe to install the patch?

That didn't work for me the first time, something about some corrupt volume or something halfway thru installation, so I uninstalled and then deleted the game directory. Did a fresh install and then ran ert_fix.exe and then unzipped the patch to the game directory overwriting the one file that gets overwritten and then I went to the game directory and double clicked EPatch.exe. I then got rid of the orig desktop shortcut, created a new one, and dropped it on the desktop. Now it works and I get 2.13-a when I start the game. Probably more there then needed done, but it works now for me.

No.

1. Backup your player directory.

2. Uninstall ERT.

3. Manually delete the ERT folder that may still be on your PC.

4. Reinstall ERT.

5. Extract the patch files to any temporary directory and run the patch.

6. Delete the patch files in the temporary directory.

7. Restore your player directory back into ERT's folder.

8. Run ERT.

Anyway, glad you got it working! wave:

Isn't that exactly what the guy that started this post did in the first place? So now i've got extra junk floating around in my ERT directory? I would have done the temp file method as thats the way normal people do things, but you guys are Navy and after reading East's reply to the first post in this thread it sounded like I had to extract to the ERT directory and then run the patch executable.

You can save yourselves a bit of heartache by putting a GOOD patch readme.txt in the downloads and maybe a sticky thread for it also.

The player directory bit is only for those concerned with losing their progress in the single player game, correct?

Specifically, the campaigns save files. There are also mission and patrol history text log files but they're purely informational and can be deleted if you want.
