League Of Free Nations I-15c Class Sub?

Hi,
I'm still playing the demo whilst awaiting the snail mail to deliver my copy of the game!! To take a break from the sub-nautical mayhem that has ruled my entire weekend i though i research a little about the sub i'm playing.
Am i right in thinking the the i-15 class is actually a Japanese B-1 type class submarine of which I-15 was the earliest submarine laid down in this class?? Which was lost off San Cristobol on 2 November 1942 to destroyer USS McCalla.
I've also been wondering if it is real. Its the most mean looking WWII sub i've seen, bit like a floating tank. Hope some WWII buff out there can let us know.
are you talking about the sub with the 6 torpedo tubes in the bow? cause that thing is a tank!
The I-15 is real. It is an AM Class submarine. The front protrusion was used for storing a seaplane that it could launch and recover. The crane and the launch rail have been removed from the version for Royal Navy use.
