Tides of War

Some of you guys already know about my WWII webcasting station, Rat Patrol Radio (check URL in my sig). Right now, I have some D Day-related WWII new clips in the rotation, but we're planning something *really* big for D Day. I bought 23 hours of mp3s which cover the entire day of June 6th 1944 on the radio. We will be playing these tracks on June 6th this year, in order, but that's not the best part. The best part is, we will be playing them at the same time of day that they originally aired! That means that the coverage that started at 2:30am EST the morning of June 6th 1944 will be played at 2:30am EST this June 6th.

I didn't think I would be able to get these files in time, but Jon at the Old Time Radio Catalog (www.otrcat.com) put the files up on a server and is letting me download them. I had purchased the CD from him (only $5!) but it wasn't going to get here in time. Jon roxors! 



I'm working on a commercial right now to insert into the ad stream tomorrow, but if you guys could get the word out, I'd appreciate it. Also, the station has a 100 free listener limit, but this limit doesn't apply to you if you are a Preferred Listener (which means getting a premium subscription)



If you sign up for a Preferred Listener package from my site, I get a little something towards helping with the bill, and if you are a Preferred Listener and choose Rat Patrol Radio as your favorite station, I get 50 cents a month.

Due to demand, we will be rebroadcasting the D-Day Special on Rat Patrol Radio starting at 7pm EDT today (Saturday) running through the weekend!

The original broadcast started at the same time of day it was taped on June 6th 1944 (2:30am) so many people missed the first part. We are starting the rebroadcast at 7pm so that everyone has a chance to hear the first reports of the landings in Normandy.
